Muchof the satisfaction of being a member of our community comes from the personal relationships that are formed and maintained here. We also find that racing under your own identity helps increase the overall sportsmanship factor among members. For these reasons, we require members to register using their real names, which, in addition to facilitating friendships, promotes personal responsibility.
If you are contacting us regarding removing a number from your name, we will need to add a middle name, initial, or use another variation of your name. We cannot manually add numbers or symbols to display names.
We are unable to swap names from inactive accounts to active accounts, whether it is to remove a number or to use an already used variation of your name. As mentioned above, we will need to add a middle name, initial, or use another variation of your name to your active account.
You can find your Customer ID# by clicking on the helmet on the UI, and then choose Profile. It will be on the top left. Or by choosing Account from the Members Site. There it's listed on the top right, under the iRacing logo.
If you are over 13 years of age, but under the age of a legal adult (age of 18), often referred to as the age of majority, we need your legal guardian or the person who paid for the account to complete the Parental Consent (attached) and email it to
Sup...@iracing.com in order for us to change your name - OR - your parent or guardian can contact us from their email address with the above information.
Eligibility. In order to register for the Sim, you must be an adult according to the laws of the jurisdiction (i.e. state or country, as the case may be) in which you reside. If you are not an adult, if you wish to use the Sim you must have a parent or guardian register for the Sim on your behalf. By registering for the Sim, you are making a representation to iRacing that you are an adult in the jurisdiction in which you reside and that you agree to this Agreement on behalf of yourself and, at your discretion, for one (1) minor child not under the age of 13 for whom you are a parent or guardian and whom you have authorized to use the account you create to use the Sim. In the event that you register a minor child not under the age of 13 to use the Sim, you hereby agree to this Agreement on behalf of yourself and such minor, and you understand and agree that you will be responsible for all uses of the Sim by the minor you register, whether or not such uses were authorized by you. In any event, the Sim is not designed for minors under the age of 13, so minors under the age of 13 are not permitted to use the Sim.
Maybe this is a silly question, but I was wondering if for example while I am in a practice session in iRacing. Can I open the fanatec software from my desktop and change the FFB settings on the wheelbase without having to quit the game first? Or do I need to quit and close iRacing before changing anything?
Most games (I would assume iRacing included, though I don't play that particular sim) are totally fine if you change settings on the fly. Depending on your wheel, you should be able to change FFB settings right from the wheel itself, without having to use the control panel or Fanalab.
Back to topic. I believe games send the same FFB information to wheels, no matter what settings you have in Fanalab or Fanatec control panel. If you minimise iRacing and do some adjustments the game won't even notice it. It will keep sending the same data but your wheel will interpret it differently, according to your new settings.

From what I understand Wheel Force should be set at what your base offers. Would I change this to 12nm because I changed in TrueDrive to be 50% FFB? Or would this be left at 25nm regardless of what FFB is set in TrueDrive?
No. You are confusing clipping and overall FFB strength. They are completely separate things. Clipping is when the sim is outputting constant flatline torque data that is being limited. It is not dependent on wheel base overall strength setting. If you set 24 Nm Max Strength in iRacing, then you liklely would not clip on the MX5 but you would be clipping in many other cars.
Is there a recommended setting for Max Force so that it covers the majority of the cars? Or is it something I should really decide per car? Is the general consensus I should increase it but not decrease it as it would get more dangerous?
In general, I set it to somewhere around 30-32 Nm so you would not clip any of the most popular cars. And even the most strong FFB cars have no useful FFB signals above that level except for some of the most violent bumps and kerb strikes, so clipping those is not harmful.
I would recommend to set that level from in-game and then set the True Drive overall strength to get the feeling you want in terms of overall FFB level. Then you can fine adjust in iRacing for each car you drive.
Wheel Force is used to limit the auto function low side so auto will NOT be set below the Maximum output of your wheel in the Base settings. So Yes if you set your Wheel config to be 50% and you have an SC2Pro you would set wheel force to 12.5Nm. this will just keep iracing from giving you a setting which will drive your wheel beyond a specific output of 1:1 with the telemetry.
Note the specific output is the same for all three of these which means the same car would put out the SAME force at the wheel EXCEPT in a wreck or in very hard curb hits. BUT the higher MF means that you can run stronger cars without clipping with 25Nm WBF you can run cars that will put out 50Nm in telemetry without clipping BUT if you have lowered your WBF that same car will clip and you will receive flat lined output with no detail.
Meaning essentially if any car provides over 34 Nm then it would clip. I could technically 100% my base at 25Nm with 0.367 SO = 68Nm and it would feel the same say in the MX5 which is a lower Nm car, but could drive more cars in higher classes without clipping.
If you are just starting out what you have determined will be good and if you move to a heavier car just recalculate with a higher max force as you have done there if you wish to keep the strength at the wheel for the lower cars.
True Drive and Tuner for the active pedals have zero features to adjust things on-the-fly. It feels like that should be on the Trello board. Letting us add key bindings to some settings in those apps. Or am I crazy?
Hello.my setup is 4 buttkickers minilfe in corner mode on. I did assign in the 8 channel mode map the effect only on the rear shakers but also the front ones shake when i change gear. why is that?ty my other effects are RPM, wheel slip, road vibration, road suspension and simulated road texture
Hi ! It means that the driver is mixing the channels, make sure to set in both and windows in quadriphonic mode. For the purpose you need to configure your sound card to be "neutral" as much as possible (not altering channels), some drivers may mix data by default, but the way to disable it varies with each model/driver, do not hesitate to refer to your sound card manual.
Ty for the answer. I see your point.but why all the shakers when i do the test in sim hub work fine and independent one from another, the other effects work fine like when i hit the kurb with the front left for example only that shaker shake as i ve setup in the control program but the Shift gear effect dont work fine like the others? and one more question please. I have a soundblaster Z and there is no quadrophonic mode. is 5.1 surround the same?ty
First of all, you need to open your app.ini file. You will find this file at C:\Documents\iRacing\app.ini. This is a very handy file that you can use to tweak many of the settings in iRacing. You might want to back it up somewhere just in case you make a mistake and need to restore the original file.
If you are on one monitor and you have issues with the Look Left and Look Right functionality in iRacing, I suggest you make this change. I find 20.00 to be ideal for me, but you can always try different angles and find what suits you best. Good luck!
iRacing Clubs are basically that iracer's geographical location within the world. Currently, there are 38 iRacing Clubs with the majority of them being in the Americas and Europe. Famous iRacing drivers are also from some of these named clubs and when some of them are not competing in any of iRacing's eSport World Championship Series', they also do some club racing to either pass the time between seasons or to even show that they still have a reason to be the top drivers of iRacing.
Note: The regions are for the top clubs of iRacing. There is a maximum of 11 regions that a top club can obtain. This can change with time as more and more members join the iRacing service. Also, clubs that have only met the 1 Region requirement will not have a region map image. They will gain a region map image as soon as they reach 100 iRacers.
The Americas Region contains iRacing clubs from North America, Latin America, Central America, Caribbean and South America. They contain the most amount of clubs at 24, mostly due to the United States having the most clubs in the sim at 20. Famous drivers like Ray Alfalla, Michael Conti, Ryan Michael Luza, Bobby Zalenski, Mitchell deJong, Chase Briscoe, David Heileman, and Jake Stergios all come from these clubs. These drivers are the oval experts on the sim which makes the Americas Region quite a tough area to race not just on asphalt ovals but on dirt ovals too.
The European Region contains the 2nd most batch of iRacing clubs at 9, mostly on the western side of the continent with some up in the north, too. They contain many famous drivers like Maximilian Benecke, Martin Kronke, Greger Huttu, Paschalis Gkergkis, Antoine Higelin, Marcus Jensen, Jamie Fluke, Sebastian Job, Enzo Bonito, Mack Bakkum and many more. These drivers are quite the road experts on the sim which makes the European Region one of iRacing's dominant areas.
