We wanted to let you know about developments coming down the pipeline for Tethys Platform. We actually have two releases planned in the next 6 months:
Tethys Platform 2.1 - Early December 2018
- Python 2 & 3 support
- Python 2 officially deprecated
- 99% unit test coverage
- PEP8 coding style standard enforced in Tethys codebase
- Tethys Extensions
- Job Templates Deprecated
Tethys Platform 3.0 - April 2019
- Drop Python 2 support
- Django 2.2 upgrade
- Dask Job Type
- Cesium Map View
- (Install apps from admin page? Other BYU work?)
Tethys 2.1 is meant to be a bridge to dropping Python 2 support. We cannot upgrade to the latest version of Django until we drop Python 2 support. We highly recommend migrating your apps to Python 3 as soon as possible after the release of 2.1 so we can work out any bugs with Python 3.
Finally, if you would like any features added to Tethys before the 2.1 release, please submit a pull requests as soon as possible.
