In an effort to bring more stability to Tethys Platform and help you to plan for the future, we have developed a tentative release schedule for Tethys Platform (pictured below). We are very interested in your feedback.

Notes:
  1. Since Tethys is very much dependent on Django, we thought it made sense to align our major releases with the Long Term Support (LTS) versions of Django.
  2. Our goal is to not introduce breaking changes more often than every 2 years.
  3. Note that only the major versions will be synced. For example every version of the Tethys 3.x series will use Django 2.2.x. and Tethys 4.x would then use Django 3.2.x and so on.
  4. We have limited capacity for supporting multiple versions of Tethys Platform simultaneously, but we would like to have at least the 4 month overlap between major releases if we can manage it.

I definitely support the alignment with Django releases, as long as the Django test releases come out early enough to allow time to upgrade Tethys accordingly...
