All:

Thank you to everyone who attended Tethys Summit on Friday. I enjoyed seeing the incredible work you all are doing.

As we mentioned on Friday, Scott Christensen and Norm Jones' terms as members of the Tethys Platform Project Steering Committee (PSC) are up. I thank them for their service.

With their departure, we need to elect two new members to fill the vacancies in the PSC. Since Scott served an extra year (thank you Scott), one of the positions will be for a 2 year term limit instead of the normal 3 year term limit.

Please submit your nominations for these two positions by Friday, January 12, 2017 by replying with their names to this post. You are welcome to self nominate. The PSC election will be held next week.

Please review the Project Steering Committee document for a reminder of PSC member responsibilities.

Kind regards,

Nathan

I nominate Michael Souffront for a 2 year position. I think it would be good to have one of our BYU PhD students on the committee and Michael is in a position to contribute a lot of new ideas and thinking to the project. I'd also suggest someone from ERDC - outside the Provo beltway. So I'll nominate Joseph Gutenson for the open 3 year term. I haven't asked either Michael or Joseph if they are interested in this nomination, but I'm sure both would do well. - Dan

In the vain of picking someone outside of the Provo area, I nominate Sarva Pulla. He's been an active developer of Tethys Apps and has made contributions to Tethys Platform. I don't think it is a bad idea to have representation from BYU either, since they remain our biggest source of development support. So on that note I +1 the Michael Souffront nomination.

+1 to Sarva Pulla, and as we discussed in the scrum I'd be willing to do it so +1 to myself.

I'm still open to other options so I nominate Scott Christensen from ERDC and Rohit Khattar from BYU.

While I would be happy to continue to serve on the PSC, I think it would also be good for others to have the opportunity. Both Michael and Sarva have expressed interest/willingness and I think both would be great. +1 to Michael and Sarva.
