Hi All,

I'm sorry I've been out of the loop on things but a quick question in regards to the app order as they show up on the App Library page when you log into the Tethys Portal - is there a way to order the way these appear?

I haven't really sat down to look at if it's by name or by install or etc but if somebody could let me know if they've encountered it or have any hacks to reordering, I'd be happy to hear your thoughts.

Thanks,
Noah

There is no official way to control the order of apps. The library that does the tiling, masonry.js, on the apps library page would make it difficult to enforce ordering, because it does some fancy calculations to figure out the optimal position for the tile based on its size. However, in Tethys Platform 1.4.0, soon to be released, we will have the new tag feature that allows you to assign tags to apps. Then you can filter down to a group of apps by selecting the tag.

Sarva built a tagging system that allows you to group/sort the apps. Sarva, what is the status of that function? Have you submitted a pull request? - Dan

I was able to find the javascript library and see they have a cool extension called isotope for sorting. Check out a cool little demo they have here - http://isotope.metafizzy.co/sorting.html - I remember seeing the sort by app option, I look forward to seeing it in the new versions of Tethys

@haonrolyat: As a clarification, sorting of the apps in the app library is not supported in Tethys 1.4.0. Filtering the apps by their tag(s) is a supported feature in 1.4.0

@zyli2004: We hope to have 1.4 released by the end of the calendar year. We have a few items of documentation that need to be finished prior to release.
