Hello,

I am having trouble installing the TestNG Eclipse plugin. Any help
would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Here is the error message that I'm receiving when I install from
http://beust.com/eclipse

An error occurred while collecting items to be installed
session context was:(profile=SDKProfile,
phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.provisional.p2.engine.phases.Collect,
operand=, action=).

Artifact osgi.bundle,org.junit,4.8.1.v4_8_1_v20100427-1100 is a
folder but the repository is an archive or remote location.

I'm using 3.5.2 Classic (so that I can use the Scala-IDE)

Just tried that with the same results.

Thank you for your time and help.

Best,
Chris

Hi Chris,

Mmmh, it looks like there might be a problem with your Eclipse installation. What version are you using?

Can you try to install the plug-in on a fresh workspace?

Can you try on a 3.6?

3.5 should work and I'm not asking you to switch to 3.6, just trying to narrow down the potential causes.

I just successfully installed an older version. Maybe there's
something wrong with the current version.

See: http://beust.com/eclipse-old/

Which version did you use? I tried a few older versions and got the
same error.

Same problems here!

I am using the final 3.5/Galileo standard Java release.

Tested the older versions:
From
http://beust.com/eclipse-old/eclipse-5.14.10.20110301_1345
to
http://beust.com/eclipse-old/eclipse-5.11.0.23/

always the same error :-(

An error occurred while collecting items to be installed
session context was:(profile=epp.package.java,
phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.provisional.p2.engine.phases.Collect,
operand=, action=).

I just tested with 3.5 SR2 and the plug-in installed fined. I'm downloading 3.5.2 right now.

Can you try with another Galileo, or better, with a Helios (3.6) version?

Thanks.
