IRetryAnalyzer on failure tests marked as skipped

Hello All,

We are using IRetryAnalyzer for retrying failed tests.  What we observed is when tests fail it is marked as skipped and it retries . 

Does tests will marked as skipped while retrying using IRetryAnalyzer? whats the rational behind this.

Yes. What you see is the expected behavior. 

A failed test when retrying should have its earlier attempts a skipped ( if it eventually passes ) so that you have a record of all the attempts. Skipped status would ensure that builds dont fail.
