dynamic parameters/variables to test kitchen

Is there a way to pass parameters to kitchen command and use them in .kitchen.yml.

Most of our cookbooks are to deploy applications and it need an artifact version, right now we are hardcoding it to a known version but we want to pass the version dynamically when running in pipeline. So that it always tests against deploying latest artifact.
