About the Role and Responsibilities
Basic Function and Scope of the Position
This person will be part of the team that is responsible for the research and development of technology that enable protection at the endpoint products on a continuous basis. Their primary focus will be on driving Protection and Performance Efficiencies within a range of technology.
They will monitor the daily progress against the project's backlog and will actively participate in the group and project meetings. They will also be responsible for assisting in the creation of project backlogs and general project design.
Specific Responsibilities/Functions
- A major contributor to the research, design, development and maintenance of a software component with the objective of developing a high quality and automated test environment in accordance with a products functional specification.
- Contributing to the agreed goals for Protection and Performance Efficiency in a given area and provide the test automation needed to ensure a quality release.
- Providing design leadership on an area of test automation.
- Peer reviewing designs and implementations of other Engineers and SDETs.
General Capabilities
- Participates in the design and testing efforts of the project as detailed by the project leader.
- Influences technical direction within the project’s test automation.
- Help collects data on project status and contributes to technical and process excellence.
- Acts as a key resource to McAfee Engineering and to other functional groups on matters pertaining to test automation.
Qualifications
Experience, Knowledge and Skills
-Excellent programming skills in C++/C
-Knowledge of the Windows API
-Knowledge of Intel Processor Architectures
-5 Year minimum Commercial Software Development experience
Desired:
-Knowledge of Unix like operating systems
-Knowledge of Agile Methodologies
-Experience of Security consideration in Software design
-Cloud Computing experience
-Strong design and modeling skills, e.g. UML
-Multi-threading and events-based programming experience
