I am collating most common reasons for jobseekers not getting calls Pls go through this Blog. It will clear some doubts.
When to send an email to HR?
- Send during working hours preferably in the morning around 10–11 so that there is a high chance for HR to see your resume.
- Do not send mail off working hours(Ex: night 11 Pm). Your mail will be lost in the crowd and behind all their latest emails because HR’s won’t wait for your mail at night 11 pm to shortlist you and call for an interview.
How to send mail to HR?
- Mention proper subject line — here mention job code, position you are applying for.
- In Body have a small cover letter kind of introduction which speaks about your experience, skills, notice period etc(This shouldn’t be too long or too short)
- Last but not least don’t forget to attach your resume(make sure file name is proper — it should be <your name> Resume.pdf). Always share pdf format
- I see people sending resumes with no subject/body and filenames are like Resume.pdf(whose resume is this?) So you need to properly name your resume.
Send an email to HR. What next?
- You need to follow up with HR, if there is no reply on your email.
How to follow up ?
- Connect with HR in LinkedIN and ask about the status of your application.
- Also follow up with any of your friends who are working in that company.
- Build your Linkedin network(Try connecting with QA’s across all companies), So that any time you want to apply for a specific company, you can seek help from someone.
Why do we need to maintain Proper LinkedIn profile?
These days a lot of company HR’s are finding candidates from LinkedIn as it is giving good results and a chance to reach out to the right people. Naukri has become little old and it has lakhs and lakhs of candidates(So Linkedin is mostly preferred by Recruiters).
Follow Good people in the QA community, Grow your network, Share interesting stuff, Be helpful to others This way you can have a Quality network in LinkedIn platform.
Don’t get disappointed if you are not getting calls
Frankly speaking these days I have noticed companies just publishing openings and doing some interviews even though they are not keen on hiring someone. Companies do this to keep their presence in job portals and market themselves saying we are hiring(so that people don’t forget this company exists in the market). We don’t have to bother about these as all we can do from our side is Apply, Try to follow up if there is no response/help don’t get disappointed just keep trying. Last month we shared close to 3000 job openings.
If you keep on applying you will get calls.
Don’t get disappointed if you are not able to crack interviews
Most people are failing to crack technical rounds because they are having mostly theoretical knowledge, These days hands on knowledge is very much mandatory. So keep practicing Automation daily.
Try solving interview questions. Refer to this sheet where they shared Lots of interview questions of various companies. Go through them, Keep practicing.

How to Connect with people over LinkedIn?
If you are not getting interview calls (Or) if you are searching for referral then you should try Linkedin.
When you get to know that particular company has job openings[with link or HR mail id]. you try connecting to that company employees in linkedin and ask them to refer you for that opening.
