Tesseract R language Gray background

I'm using tesseract in R. It work fine, but I have the following problem:
1) Tesseract dasn't recognize any chart if it has a background
Hi I'm leo
I like wine
COUNTRY
Italy
Verdicchio
--------------------------------> the result is:
Hi I'm Leo
I like wine
Verdicchio
2) Somentimes, seems to skips text after some point in some "document row" if they come from tabbed text
123 123 ciao 212 asd asd asd fgh fgh fgh fgh
--------------------------------> sometimes the result can be
123 123 ciao 212 asd asd asd
Any suggest?
