Clarification on libcurl Dependency in Tesseract-OCR

Hi Team,
We use Tesseract-OCR in our product, and one of our customers has reported the CVE-2025-0725 vulnerability related to libcurl.
We would like to better understand the dependency relationship between Tesseract-OCR and libcurl. Could you please confirm whether libcurl is required for Tesseract-OCR functionality? Specifically, if libcurl were removed from the Tesseract-OCR installation or package, would there be any impact on OCR processing or other Tesseract features?
If Tesseract-OCR has a dependency on libcurl, we would appreciate clarification on the following:
Which Tesseract components or features require libcurl?
Is it possible to remove libcurl from the installation? If so, what steps would be required?
Would standard OCR operations continue to function without libcurl?
Are there any expected functional limitations or feature restrictions if libcurl is not present?
Our goal is to understand the role of libcurl within the Tesseract-OCR stack and determine whether it is essential for the functionality we currently use.
