Can tesseract read cursive handwriting?

Good day, I am trying to develop a mobile app that can read cursive handwriting (doctor's handwriting to be exact). My question is, can tesseract-ocr read cursive handwriting? If not, can someone give me suggestion for an algorithm. Thanks in advance.
