I just downloaded VietOCR-4.0-Beta from sourceforge site.

On opening the zip file, I didn't file any "how to install" instructions
in it.

readme.txt given on download page has nothing but 5 line change log. I
think it should not be called readme.txt but should be renamed
changelog.txt or something more appropriate.

There are readme.html, that just give installation instructions for
linux os, and says "follow wiki page for other os". The wiki page says
there is setup.msi and setup.exe bundled in the download for installing,
but there is no setup.msi and setup.exe bundled in the Beta download
that I got.

So, i am stuck.

I matched the content of my current 3.4.1 beta4 installation with the
downloaded beta zip contents, I found that even folder names have been
changed (Earlier one had lib, new one has Library), so just moving the
contents wouldn't work.

there is ocr.bat that did open the ocr, but in win 8 I don't know how to
pin a bat file to metro interface for easy access.

And the problem will be moving the Hindi and other language library to
new install.

Please look in to the complexity and match the content of beta zip file
with wiki instructions, or provide relevant instructions in the beta zip
file.

The question remains - how do I install my new beta download over my
previous beta install so as they don't conflict.

Thanks.

The Java version does not require installation.Just unzip and run ocr.bat. Version 4.0 beta is for new Tesseract 3.03 beta.

The .NET version includes setup.msi installer.

"readme.txt" is a standard filename defined by sf.net site for Download page to describe the files distributed on that page.
