monospace text with decorations

People are forever sending me screenshots of terminal windows with text highlighted, underlined, circled, etc., resized and converted between image formats so everything's surrounded by irregular artifacts.  PSM 5 and 6 don't seem to help any.  Any suggestions for getting correct text out of something like this faster than just retyping it?

The zeroes and hyphens are a particular mess, but even 5 vs. S has trouble:
