I am willing to volunteer to work on the Windows Installer package for
this project. I can be contacted via gmail if a setup author is still
needed. My experience can be viewed at linkedin.com - http://www.linkedin.com/in/osye3

Osye,

There is no windows installer!
(Still looking for volunteers to create one.)
- according to readme - tesseract-ocr - Important information.
Hence you can start to work on the Windows Installer package as well as generate VCproject for lang.traineddata, if possible - for benefit of users like me.
With best of Luck,

previous versions of tesseract.exe are used as command line exe.

I was volunteering since it was stated on the ReadMe page here (http://
code.google.com/p/tesseract-ocr/wiki/ReadMe) that there was a need for
one. If there is no need then no problem, but if there is a need or
if someone just wants one I can put one together.

Osye,
Yes. there is a need please put one together for benefit of users - no doubt about this. Ray will definitely appreciate and welcome  it, since he himself had  suggested in Readme Page that there was a need for windows installer.

Hi and thanks for volunteering. Although tesseract is a command-line program, there are still a lot of users that trip over at the first hurdle of having to unpack the tar.gz of the binary and add the language files in the right place. With 3.00, things are simpler in that I have the vcroj file set to link the crt statically, and all the required dlls will be in the tarball, there is still a need for a simple install process that let's the user pick what klanguages they want.

Thanks,
Ray.

I have started work on this but had to put it on hold as I started a
new contract last week. I am planning to resume working on the MSI
package for tesseract-ocr this weekend life permitting.
