CPU issue with tesseract

Hi,
we have single core cloud machine and using tesseract-ocr for image to text convert process. but it is allow only one thread at a time in single core cpu system and cpu performance take more then 80%. is possible to run multi thread with tesseract?. how many cpu cores need for 6 concurrent threads? please anyone suggest for this issue.
