Background Process

I am using Tesseract to read a screen called from AutoIt which is scheduled in SSIS. SSIS runs the package in the background, Is it possible for Tesseract to run as a process in the background or does it have to be visible interacting with the desktop?

It seems to not be working if it is possible - got a black image.
