how to improve dot-matrix digits recognize accuracy

Hi folks,

Below is the dot-matrix digits picture, tesseract recognize it uncorrect without any pre-processing.

I did erode processing via opencv, the digit 1 recognize correct, but the digit 0 still failed. 

 

for the special font 0, do you have any suggestion how to make tesseract know it is the digit 0?

Should I apply more image processing to the image, or should I training the tesseract for the special 0?

You could try finetuning for the dotmatrix font.
