Use OCR as OMR

Is it possible to train an OMR engine using Tesseract? It seems that
OMR is much easier than OMR.

And It will be really grateful if someone could tell me a more
suitable open-source project that is good at OMR.

Yes it is much easier.
No it doesn't fit with Tesseract.
No I don't know of anything open source.

I am just researching this as well, but you should check out quexf. It
integrates with tesseract to do the OCR

The problem is that I am not a PHP guy and it is difficult for me to figure out how PHP code deals with the OMR problems.

Do you know any solutions based on Java or C?
