Standalone build script failure

I use the standalone build script from Uni Mannheim, but I get the following error on Travis and my Ubuntu machine:

configure: error: Leptonica 1.74 or higher is required. Try to install libleptonica-dev package.

What did I miss? Setting up the PKG_CONFIG_PATH won't work.

try changing Leptonica version in script to 1.74.4

You could install using homebrew.

My goal is a standalone version for Linux. Changing the version did not solve the problem.

If I understood log from travis - your leptonica is just build but not installed (standard way: via make install). There is attempt to install leptonica "manually" by coping some files, but this is wrong approach - you need rely on packager work (make install process), unless you know exactly what are you doing and why.
