Hi,

Does RHIPE still support MapReduce v1?

The older tar.gz files had 'mr1' and 'mr2' in their file names to indicate different Hadoop versions. However, from RHIPE 0.75.1.3 onwards, the naming scheme is different; it is now 'cdh5' and 'hadoop-2'.

I am encountering problem with RHIPE 0.75.1.5 when using it on a Hadoop MapReduce v1 cluster running on Red Hat Linux.

The specific error is:
java.lang.NoSuchMethodError:
org.apache.hadoop.mapreduce.Job.addCacheFile(Ljava/net/URI;)V

Thanks.

RHIPE v0.75 is mr2 only.  Although they are supposed to be compatible, there were too many nuanced differences between mr1 and mr2 that we had to break into separate branches.  You can get RHIPE that runs with mr1 in the v0.74 branch.  It is not under active development, but has been used quite extensively so it should work.  You can get prepackaged travels at http://ml.stat.purdue.edu/rhipebin/.
