I am running Debian Wheezy (7.8) on two different systems (laptop and server).   I am unable to get Trelliscope to display any information using your sample scripts for Housing Data and Census data.  These systems are running R 3.1.2.

I have also run your script emr-3.2.1 and successfully installed Rstudio on an AWS cluster.  The individual graphics in your sample scripts work in both R and Rstudio on both local and AWS machines.

Running view() launches the browser with an unpopulated trelliscope. I have also tried opening up the permissions on the display directories.

Stand-alone shiny examples work on all my machines.  I have turned off all browser add-ons.

I would like to include Trelliscope in an upcoming demo I am doing, but I can't find any documentation on the Tessera site about requirements/settings for Trelliscope to understand what might be causing the problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ryan W

Hi Ryan,

Thanks for posting.  A recent update to shiny on CRAN has caused some trouble with Trelliscope.  I have updated Trelliscope and I and others have been testing it for the past few days.  It looks good so I just merged it.  If you reinstall from tesseradata/trelliscope, that will hopefully solve your problem.  If it doesn’t, please let us know and we’ll help you figure out what might be causing the problem.

Thanks!

Ryan

Hi Ryan,

I just wanted to let you know that my presentation at the IASSIST conference (http://iassist2015.pop.umn.edu/)  went over very well.  The data users there were excited about the Tessera project.

I do have a Youtube screencast version of the workshop that includes the following 3 segments on Tessera, which may be of interest to some others.
