I have a 2018 TM3 and my heating unit isn't working, the heated seats are. I've got a pricey estimate from Teslaband just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this before and what the resolution was. Hoping it's a lose wiring issue.

Had a problem but I have a 2020 MY so it has the octovalve which I don't think you have.  They replaced something they called a something manifold which might be the octovalve.  Under warranty for me for it looked pricey.  They had the car for a week

Amar's car doesn't have the heat pump but resistive heating.

Amar, this article is a couple years old but seems to indicate a systemic problem happening back then. Maybe it is related to your issue....

Thanks for sending Dan, my estimate on the fix is identical to what the article shows. Fortunately, last time I went to Tesla I got a big estimate but the fix was really simple and they didn't charge me much. I'll be sure to have this article ready when I go in.

Thanks,
Amar

Here's the follow up.

When I made the appt to resolve the heating issue, it was noted that I wasn't eligible for an Uber ride credit because of the anticipated time it would take to resolve this issue, which made sense to me since it seemed to be a s/w issue. I waited at the Princeton waiting room for about 90 mins and then was told that it wouldn't be resolved that day and it would take another two days. I said that I thought it was s/w related but they person told me that the initial diagnosis was that it wasn't, which is why they gave me a $1k estimate to fix. I left around 3pm.

At 8am the following morning, I was told the car was ready to be picked up. Based on everything that transpired, there is a part of me that thinks it wasn't a h/w issue; it was indeed an s/w issue, but I was still charged $1k to fix it.

Can't prove it, but it's what I think.

Thanks,
Amar

The invoice should tell you what they actually did...?
