scheduling HVAC

I was playing with the Tesla Plugin for Tasker to shedule the HVAC to turn on prior to a routine morning drive.  My question has to do with how the Tesla handles turning off the HVAC.  If you drive the car, I believe that the HVAC will turn off after you make your trip and depart the car.

But, what if plans change and you don't drive the car.  The HVAC is set to turn on at, say, 8am via Tasker.  If you don't add a task to turn off the HVAC, will it just continually run?

The same question for when you schedule the departure time from the app, which also preconditons the battery along with sets the climate on.  Does it time out if you don't actually leave at the set departure time, or just continue to run?
