Helloooo Albert, Sonia, Kip, Walt, Brett, Jared, Ali, and Andrew!!

This email is most likely going to be a long one but please bear with me because it is also a very important one.

As you all have noticed by now, we have not been performing at our highest potential as a group. It is no one person's fault but instead it is all of ours and it has led to a lack of meetings, meeting attendance, events, marketing, and in general not being the group we hoped to be on campus this semester.

This said, I hope that we can cut this trend short, get back on track to wrap up the semester strong, and come back spring semester prepared to act on the goals we set at the beginning of this year!

Ok so, we basically have 4 meetings left. Below are my thoughts on them and some action items.

Wed Nov 14th-- ELECTIONS and whatever other activities we come up with.

Wed Nov 21st --Thanksgiving (No meeting)

Wed Nov 28th--Lets get a speaker for this one. An epic one.
(Thurs/Fri Nov 29/30-- social event of some sort. This is the last weekend before people start freaking out about finals.)

Wed Dec 5th--This is our last official meeting of the year. End with a bang.

Wed Dec 12th-- This wednesday is during reading period. I would be psyched to do something but it must be something very light that would compliment finals. Perhaps we designate Think Tank time to study, watch a movie that has to do with entrepreneurship?...

Action Items:

Jared, Andrew: Each meeting needs to be well marketed starting a week in advance.

Albert: Prep for elections next week. send out an email/ google spread sheet describing roles, seeing who is interested , and telling them what to do if they are?

Everyone: We must have a speaker for the 28th set up by Nov. 14th.

Brett: An event for Nov 29/30 must be planned by Nov 21st. Perhaps we can incorporate Blue Key- sonia?

Treasurers: Do what needs to be done to learn what needs to be known. Does that involve a meeting with Albert? Does that involve a meeting with TCU? Find out about our budget so that we can plan appropriately. It would be great to have this as soon as possible but at the latest, please report back to the group what youve learned by our meeting the week we get back from Thanksgiving break.

Everyone: Begin brainstorming ideas for an epic last meeting of the year (Dec 5th)

I have an event in Boston this coming Wednesday night the 14th so I will not be able to make it to that meeting.

Please respond to this email no later than Friday at 5pm by:
1. acknowledging that youve seen the action items assigned to you

2. telling us what you plan to do over the next couple weeks to make progress towards the action items

3. stating whether you plan to continue on with exec board or whether your position should be up for election

4. 2 ideas for speakers on the 28th

5. 1 idea for how to make our last meeting on Dec 5th really awesome.

6. Friday morning response (see below).

Im sorry this email may have been a bit intense but I think you guys are such an awesome, talented, capable group of people and that Albert and I have been doing you a disservice by not giving you the organizational support you might need to do your job with TES the best you could. This email is one step towards remedying that.

Finally, I dont think we have done enough exec board bonding. Can people pleaseeee please please do a breakfast friday morning by any chance?? I will make pancakes for everyone no matter how hungover i may or may not be Friday morning!!

Love,

Kate

1. I seen it. Albert needs to send me the budget but other than that I should be caught up on everything. Turning a receipt to the TCU office next week so will talk to them then.
2. Hype up the meetings with my friends and people that came to the initial meetings. Perhaps get food.
3. Yes, pres or veep. Treasurer is open I guess.
4. Greg is always very energetic and fun. Also the kids that made iJumbo or another Tufts student app developer.
5. PITCH COMPETITION.
6. Leaving for NY tonight so no dice, sorry kate.

Walt

I'll respond to the rest of the e-mail later, but I think I can get us a speaker! His name is Chris Pape, and he's a former Tufts undergrad who founded a company called Genuine Interactive. He spoke to my ELS101 class a couple weeks ago, and he told me afterwards that he'd definitely be interested in speaking to the TES members. He's a great guy, and I'll be sure to email him later.

Thanks for everyone who responded so quickly- you guys all rock!

Thinking 10am for breakfast tomorrow. My house is 90 bromfield rd. Ill
be making pancakes and maybe blue berry muffins too if I get fancy.
Have everything but missing syrup. If someone could bring/ pick some
up, thatd be great. Other wise we could go grab some at the store in
ball sq in the morning.

Can't wait!

Hi!  Here's a few of my responses:
1.   I'll start sending out emails to the group and updating the facebook group for meetings.  However, I'll obviously need the schedules for future meetings a week in advance and not just the day after the exec board meeting.
2. So far I'll be doing what I stated in number one and I'm going to try and get a few cool speakers to come talk at TES meetings (another one from the cookie guy, Brett's ELS 101 speaker, founder of xkcd, etc.)
3. At the moment, I'd like to do TES again next semester, but I'm not sure how my schedule is going to work out.  If my position goes up for election, that's fine, and if I decide that I have enough time next semester, then I'd love to be able to help where I can and still come to exec board meetings.
4. Founder of xkcd and cookie guy
5. small networking event, order pizza, get ELS professors to possibly come talk and work with the students.
6. I have a tour tomorrow morning at 10:30 but I'll try to come by if I can sprint there and back at 10:00!

1) Yep

2)I can look into ways that other groups like us use their funds to grow membership and activity, and brainstorm with walt about which we could do best

3) I'm not sure I'm going to be able to, I need to think about it.

4)People from tufts endowment or tech transfer could be really interesting

5) it's too cold for a water slide so I'm thinking some kind of warm food, we could co-host with the venture fund to bring in more guests

6) lab's likely going to eat my morning but I'll do my best

1. Yes

2. I sent out an email to the guy I was telling you about, so hopefully he'll tell me sometime he's free to speak to the group over the next couple of weeks. I'm also down to help plan an event for the end of November — I think another Blue Key event / party would be a great idea.

3. I'm still not sure about joining the board next semester, but like Jared, I'll definitely still remain an active member of the group if I decide against it.

4. Chris Pape (Genuine Interactive founder) and the cookie guy

5. I like the idea of another pitch competition, or really anything involving food and/or Monaco.

6. My bad...
