Please be informed that a very dangerous virus Crimean-Congo
Haemorrhagic Fever been identified newly in India first in Kolat village
in Sanand taluka of
Gujarat. This is a vector borne
virus( tick) as the vector. It does not affect livestock or wild animals
but is lethal to humans categorized as a
bio-safety level IV agent by the Health ministry.
The first patient to be infected died in the first week of January and
then the next 2 victims were the doctor who treated her and the nurse
attending to her. The mortality of the infection is 40%. Please follow
adequate protection against tick bite and consult doctor for any
symptoms - flu like fever, abdominal pain and vomiting. This virus and
the vector is prevalent in all parts of India except Jammu and Kashmir. I
