Oscar transmits NMEA logs via Bluetooth in real time

Oscar products now support a variety of NMEA data logs output in real-time, transmitted to the computer via wireless communication – Bluetooth. Tersus software TersusGNSSCenter (serial port software) can display NMEA data logs in real time and save them. It is widely used in the post-processing software that supports the testing and analysis of NMEA format data, and control center integrates the real-time location information of NMEA.

1. Prepare an Oscar receiver, power it on, and place it at the observation location (where NMEA real-time data is required);

2. Prepare a computer, the following operation is a demonstration under Windows 10 operating system.
  • Open Windows settings, select the device option, turn on the Bluetooth button, and click Add Bluetooth or other device;

3. Launch the TersusGNSSCenter software on your computer, select the output port number above, and the baud rate is 115200. Switch to the Save Option and confirm that the saved folder and NMEA only (.nmea) are ticked. Click OK, you can see that various NMEA data logs have been output and displayed in real time, including a total of eight sentences: RMC / ZDA / GST / VTG / HDT / GSV / GGA / GSA.

In addition to Bluetooth wireless transmission, now we also support the NMEA sentence output specified by the Oscar panel configuration. The output is connected to the application end through a physical serial cable, and the data output is more stable and reliable.

Oscar receivers obtain differential corrections through the network or radio data link and achieve RTK fixed solutions with accuracy up to millimeter positioning level. The NMEA data in fixed solution can be widely used in various scenarios of high-precision position navigation information, including unmanned driving, monitoring integration, precision agriculture, marine vessel positioning and so on.
