I've been running away from her like a coward." The Match Factory has revealed a first look trailer for a Portuguese film set in Asia premiering at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival next month. This new film is called Grand Tour, and it's the latest feature by Portuguese director Miguel Gomes, best known for his films Tabu (2012), The Tsugua Diaries (2021), and his Arabian Nights trilogy (2015). Grand Tour was already announced as part of the prestigious Competition at Cannes 2024 this year, which is a big deal for a film like this. Edward, civil servant, flees fiancee Molly on their wedding day in Rangoon, Burma, in 1917. His travels replace panic with melancholy. Molly, set on marriage and amused by his escape, trails him across Asia. The film stars Gonalo Waddington & Crista Alfaiate. Variety says it features a mix of "narrative sequences shot in a studio [which are] intercut with footage of contemporary Asia." It is a tragicomedy though it is also "melancholic and courageous." This is a rather wacky trailer, starting out with somber B&W footage then cutting into cheesy flashes of dancing, puppets, & more. Definitely looks like an acquired taste kind of film.
"Isn't that Wrmer's signature?" Shudder has revealed the official US trailer for the Danish horror mystery sequel Nightwatch 2, known as Nightwatch: Demons Are Forever, from the same Danish filmmaker Ole Bornedal. Not to be confused with the two Russian movies Night Watch and Day Watch, this is not related - it's a new sequel to Bornedal's 1994 movie Nightwatch, which was remade into Nightwatch in 1997 with Ewan McGregor. The original also starred Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who has become considerably more famous after "Game of Thrones". In this sequel, Martin's daughter, Emma, takes up a night watch job to find out what happened to her parents almost thirty years ago. A meeting with Wrmer in his cell pulls the serial killer out of his coma and sets in motion a chain of fateful events. Starring Fanny Leander Bornedal, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Kim Bodnia, Sonja Richter, Ulf Pilgaard, Casper Kjr Jensen, Paprika Steen, and Nina Rask. Freaky!! This looks like a "Mindhunter-esque" update continuing this scary story.

"So close the crimson and clover, all gone now to the edge, where the black begins the long forked tongue hisses." What does it all mean?! Another freaky teaser!! Neon has revealed one more creepy teaser trailer for Longlegs, set to open in theaters nationwide starting this July. We've featured the other cryptic teasers before as well as the incredible first official trailer for this film a few months ago. FBI Agent Lee Harker is assigned to an unsolved serial killer case that takes unexpected turns, revealing eerie evidence of the occult. Harker discovers a personal connection to the killer and must stop him before he strikes again. Longlegs is the latest film from director Oz Perkins (of The Blackcoat's Daughter, I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House, Gretel & Hansel). The horror film stars Maika Monroe as Lee Harker, Nicolas Cage, Alicia Witt, Blair Underwood, and Dakota Daulby. There's not much footage to see in here, but the text and the few shots they do include will make your skin crawl. I cannot wait for this - it's going to be scary as hell.
"This foil is holding you back" Cranked Up Films has revealed an official trailer for a very low budget indie film titled Foil, a wacky UFO comedy from filmmaker Zach Green, co-written by Green and writer Devin O'Rourke. This premiered at Dances with Film Festival last year, and will be out on VOD this May. Here's the pitch: An unusual piece of foil with potential alien origin causes a rift between two former best friends camping in the California desert. Described as a sci-fi buddy comedy following two friends, Rex and Dexter, who are hoping to reconnect. They soon realize that their intentions for the camping weekend are at odds. Dexter, a failed filmmaker, hopes to harness a fabled vortex in the area to inspire a movie. Rex, a rebellious conspiracy theorist, plans to investigate a rumored UFO crash believed to explain the anomaly. This stars Chris Doubek as Tom, Brian McGuire, Devin O'Rourke, Zach Green, Ari Stidham, Ashley Rae Spillers, & Jasmine Wattar. Looks somewhat kooky and amusing, might be worth a watch when it's out.

An official trailer is already available now for this Hong Kong action movie titled Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In. It was recently announced as one of the Midnight premieres in the line-up at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival coming up this May. The film is an adaptation of the manhua City of Darkness by Andy Seto. It stars the action legend Sammo Hung as well as Louis Koo as Tornado (龍捲風), a martial arts master who is regarded as a legend in Kowloon Walled City. It's also produced by Wilson Yip Wai Sun (of the Ip Man series, Flashpoint) and John Chong (of the Infernal Affairs series, Initial D). The film follows the troubled youth Chan Lok-kwun (Raymond Lam) as he enters into the Walled City, discovers the order amidst its chaos, and learns important life lessons along the way. This has some pretty badass action that kicks in in the second half, with a cool set for the intricate walled city. Fire up the footage.

"I don't just want to take down your ex-husband, I want to devour him." Oh damn! It seems the battle has begun. Netflix has debuted the full official trailer for the series A Man in Full, arriving for streaming early May in a few weeks (first teaser here). It's adapted from the novel "A Man in Full" written by the late Tom Wolfe, a book many are familiar with already. The main character is Charles Croker, once a college football star, now a late-middle-aged Atlanta conglomerate king whose outsize ego has at last hit up against reality. When Atlanta real estate mogul Charlie Croker faces sudden bankruptcy, political and business interests collide as Charlie defends his empire from those attempting to capitalize on his fall from grace. Starring Jeff Daniels as Croker, with Tom Pelphrey, Diane Lane, Lucy Liu, William Jackson Harper, Aml Ameen, Sarah Jones, Jon Michael Hill, and Chant Adams. This looks wicked and amusing and, you know, from this trailer I'm kinda on the side of everyone trying to take him down. Will they be successful...?
