If the vocal or instrument you are working with is in the middle or high-frequency range, set the Range to Normal. Only if the melody you are tuning plays mainly in the bass then set this parameter to Low.
The plug-in allows you to choose the key of the song using drop-down menus. You can choose the major scale, the needed type of minor scale, pentatonic, or any other, there are plenty of options for musicians here.
However, even if you have chosen one of the different pitch quantization grids and the root notes, you can still activate or deactivate the keys on the piano keyboard manually by clicking on them. In this case, the scale setting jumps back to the User Scale option as you are choosing the notes manually.
Also, you can choose just a few notes in the scale to produce some creative artificial auto-tune effects like vocal jumping back and forth between the notes that are far apart. In this case, you may select only a few keys on the keyboard and work with the tuning.
However, if the singer sings greatly out-of-tune or if you are changing the pitch a lot by tuning, the correction can surpass a semitone. In this case, the input and output notes may not be the same, so just pick what you would like to monitor: the initial pitch or the result.
Below the keyboard, there is a horizontal indication bar that will light up as you play and auto-tune your track. The length of the green bar will show the amount of correction in real time, it will be constantly changing.
If you are recording a vocal part and are planning to apply a robotic auto-tune effect, it would be good to check how the vocal sounds with auto-tune right away. As you are planning to change the sound substantially, this real-time pitch correction monitoring is often necessary and helps you achieve the desired effect.
However, singing and listening to your voice at the same time with Pitch Correction may be difficult because of the latency. You or the artist you are recording will be singing and hearing the voice with a distinguishable delay.
Automatic correction is easy, and you can receive various results from using it. You may be just tuning the vocal or instrument for perfect pitch or producing autotuned sounds with various creative effects. However, this autotune Plugin in Logic Pro is missing several functions compared to Auto-Tune from Antares, particularly the graphic mode, where you can edit every note manually in a Melodyne-like way.
In general, Flex is a diverse and powerful feature built into Logic Pro X, and it has more functions that we have not explained here. Of course, in Logic, you can change the pitch of instruments as well, and work with apple loops, but in this article, we are focusing mostly on editing vocal recordings.
Antares product has more advantages, for example, it has greater control over how human or not-human your corrected vocal will sound. Just one example: Auto-Tune has a Flex Tune option that allows you to leave artistic vocalizations that travel too far from a note uncorrected. There are a number of features that are unique to the Antares product and make it a preferable choice for mixing chart-toppers.

However, using an auto-tune plugin is a much more common practice than you think, regardless of whether artists use it to add an eccentric vocal effect to their creations or to make their audio sounds more professional with pitch correction.
Flex Pitch shows a piano roll-like editor where we can sharpen or flatten the vocal notes, edit things like note length, gain and even add or remove vibrato. This is a more advanced tool that can be used together with or instead of auto-tuning.
Once you select the key from the drop-down menu, next to it, choose the scale. Most songs are in the Major scale or Minor scale, and generally, a Major scale is a more cheerful sound, and a Minor scale has a darker and somber sound.
Next, go to the two sliders on the right, and look for the response slider. Lowering the slider to the bottom will create a robotic effect. Play back the track, listen to how it sounds, and adjust the response slider until you hear the sound you envisioned.
Highlight your track and open your track editor window by double clicking on it. Now select the Flex icon (the one that looks like a sideways hourglass), and choose Flex Pitch from the Flex mode drop-down menu. You should be able to see the piano roll where you can edit in more detail your vocal track.
You can use Flex Pitch to create a robotic effect similar to autotune. The difference is that with auto-tune, you can do so in the entire track; with Flex Pitch, you can add the effect to sections like the chorus by modifying the pitch on that specific note.
Nowadays, everyone uses auto-tune and pitch correction, either to enhance their vocal recordings or to change their voice, with dedicated audio libraries like Auto-Tune Access. Whether you use Antares auto-tune plug-ins as a stylistic choice or pitch correction tools to fine-tune your performance, these effects make your music sound more professional and unique.
Autotune is the name given to a processor that tunes the pitch of a sound in real-time. It can be used sparingly just to tame the pitch of a sound or used in excess as a stylistic choice.

Once you have the plug-in in place, you should hear the autotune effect on whatever sound you are applying it to immediately. In my experience, I find that autotune and other pitch-effecting plug-ins tend to work best on clean & dry sounds.
There are however, many third party plug-ins available on the market that claim to justify their price with things like vast additional functionality, ultra-low latency and premium sound quality.
The Antares Auto-Tune range claims to be the industry standard for autotune. Its simple interface makes it a popular choice for beginner and advanced producers alike. The most affordable option does not seem to give many additional options but the audio quality is said to be unparalleled. The more premium options available seem to have more additional functionality.
This plug-in seems to be a nice affordable option that gives the user a good deal more functionality such as formant shifting and a great deal more (note: never pay full price for a Waves plugin because they seem to be on huge discount sale 95% of the time).
Like Finneas mentioned in his tweet, there are ways to fix the tuning of a vocal that are transparent to the listener. Software such as Melodyne is a prime example and one of the industry standards for vocal re-tuning.
As well as changing the pitch of individual notes, this function also allows user to adjust the formant, gain, degree of pitch-drift and even vibrato of individual notes. In this sense, you could use this tool to achieve something resembling the classing autotune sound.
If you like the sound and want it in your music then by all means you should make use of it. But remember that for actual pitch correction, the tools for the job are Flex Pitch, Melodyne or similar. The Logic stock tools for autotune or pitch correction will take you a long way, but you can start turning to premium plug-ins once you start to feel their limitations.
I am running logic 10.7.9 on a Mac Studio 2022 M1 running Ventura 13.5.2. I am experiencing this issue where anytime I pull up Antares Autotune EFX+ it brings up the error message stating that "a plugin has caused Logic to be come unstable, please recover or quit Logic Pro" A week ago EFX+ worked fine on all my projects. I have uninstalled all the antares plugins multiple times as well as auto-tune central, as well as manually deleting the plugin components from library. When I open the plugin-manager EFX+ crashes validation every time. Anyone know what I can do?

I'm investigating. This may be user error or something silly/obvious, but still working on it. (I haven't done any real troubleshooting yet - I'm just posting here in the meantime to provide some corroboration of this issue.)
Additionally, Autotune and similar features save valuable time in the recording and editing process, allowing artists to focus on their performance rather than spending excessive hours on manual tuning.
For those who prefer using third-party plugins, you can seamlessly integrate Antares Auto-Tune in Logic Pro X. At the end of the day, some producers and artists prefer the unique features and characteristics that Antares Auto-Tune brings to the table.
