Club Kickoff recap, the next meeting, elections & more!

Great to see so many faces at Wednesday's Club Kickoff event; thank you for coming. Delighted about the enthusiasm for the Entrepreneurship Club.  

As a recap, Chris Hanks laid out the primary objectives of the club then called another meeting for 5pm on Thursday, Sept. 17th, Sanford 312.  Elections will be held at this meeting for President, Vice President, Treasurer and Chief Technologist.  Details below:

Objectives

Step 1: Make money.  Step 2: Save the world.

The Entrepreneurship Club has been selected by UGA to direct MBA Outreach, an initiative to bring together disparate business clubs (finance, marketing, operations, real estate, etc.) under one umbrella. The goal is to leverage our combined resources to make a lasting positive impact on the community. Contact Erin McCrary at eemc...@gmail.com for more information.  

Before we can do that we need money.  Fortunately, turns out we're the Entrepreneurship Club.  We're going to use the technology behind Waco Board to drive customers to local businesses and make dough along the way. Also in the offing is a Nicaraguan jewelry import business.  Much more on that at next week's meeting. Please note that running a business is hard, so if you're serious about joining expect a time commitment. That said, as entrepreneurs we don't argue with results.

Leadership

If we're going to make money and save the world, we're first going to need serious leadership  Want to put yourself on the line and make a name for yourself launching one of the most successful clubs anywhere in the country?  Then a leadership position might be right for you. Come to Thursday's meeting prepared to share why you think you have what it takes. 

 -President: Essentially the CEO of the club.  Buck stops here. The President leads the club towards achieving objectives and oversees separate business entities within the club, and has influence over appointments.  He or she is also the chief liaison to the Entrepreneurship Program at large via Chris Hanks and the entrepreneurship program assistant. The President is also responsible for ensuring that the club abides by all the terms outlined in our club's constitution.  

 -Vice President: Works closely with the President. Ensure implementation of plans and tactics that serve strategic objectives. 

 -Treasurer: Ensures that money is handled responsibly, transparently, and withing all rules and regulations. Helps handle finance and accounting side of business interests. 

 -Chief Technologist: Works with leadership. Ensures technology behind club business supports objectives. Tech liaison to external online service providers. Assists entrepreneurship program assistant with program development and forum build-out.
