Greetings all,

I played last year at Origins and will be back this year. I am
contemplating bringing an airsoft pistol of my own, one that doesn't
need to be recocked after each shot. The gas pistols I looked at have
velocities around 300fps.

At what velocity do the rifles spit their pellets?

Anyhow, last year was a rocking good time and I shall return.

I will have to defer this to Mac and Paul, as they are the airsoft
experts on the team. I was under the understanding that the only
weaponry allowed in the scenario would be the TW supplied weapons for
safety and insurance reasons, but Mac and Paul can confirm or deny my
misapprehensions. :) Either way, we're looking forward to seeing you
there!

Yep...

Sorry guys... we need to ask that we use only the weapons we provide
or ones approved by us on an individual basis. The Neonfire weapons
clock in at only around 180-200fps. Gas pistols in the 300 range will
be probably too hot for the ranges we're talking about. I'd say a good
way for us to "test" it is to let one of us fire about 6-8 rounds into
your chest or arm at a couple inches ranges and see what happens. Not
saying that to be sadistic or a wiseass... but with the number of
shots our monsters and actors soak up over the weekend... we have to
be really careful on the ouch-factor of the weapons.

I would think that we probably won't greenlight a gas pistol. There
are several electric pistols out that fire considerably lower than a
gas pistol... around 200-230fps. We're probably looking to allow
these... but your typical gas pistol is probably firing a little too
hot. Can you lay your hands on an inexpensive Cyma Glock 18 AEP?

PS...

And yes... a lot of springer pistols pack a decent little punch... but
we're more willing to work with them since it does take longer to fire
and doesn't allow a lot of rounds to be snapped off rapidly at point
blank range.

Check out that Cyma Glock. Stefan and I both picked one up at MegaCon
and have been pretty pleased with them.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but we cannot allow any
"outside" airsoft weapons into the senario due to insurance issues with our
Host, GAMA.

When we presented them with the weapons used this year, we had to
give them exact details on fps and style. This is a CYA issue.

Thanks for the understanding.

I totally understand the no gas, 300fps is way too hot for this
stuff. The Tokyo Marui EBB Combat Delta seems to fit the bill quite
well. 190fps according to RedWolf. (

My fault for waiting this long to think about it. Last month I could
have just ordered and waited, now there is a bit of a scramble, but
thanks for pointing out a place that should be able to deliver
faster. (I'm thinking their 1911, I don't like 9mm, even fake 9mm.)
