PRICE DATABASETextile fiber and yarn prices have stayed firm in the past two weeks in Asia. Spun yarn prices were however this Monday declining on Zhejiang's markets in China, in line with a lack of demand from processors.
The new diplomatic crisis in the Middle East is today supporting crude oil prices on the global market, with polyester intermediate prices also remaining stable, as a result. For how long, however?

4 January 2016 - Polyester chain prices have stayed firm in the last two weeks, in line with a global oil market supported by rising diplomatic ternsion in the Middle East. Prices could however continue dropping in the coming months over excess supply. PRICE DATABASEOur monthly and historical data have been updated with December average prices. Cotton prices were relatively stable in the last month of 2015, by contrast with falling polyester and viscose prices. Yarn prices also retreated in China whereas resisting on other markets.

China Yarn Prices: Domestic and Import Markets (Weekly Report)
5 January 2016 - Yarn prices have further dropped in the last two weeks on the domestic market in China, whereas yarn import prices have slightly increased in yuan terms. Yarn imports are therefore declining, as confirmed by latest official trade data which are below published. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing (Zhejiang). Prices of a large number of counts are released for spun cotton, polyester, viscose and blends. Domestic and import yarn prices are compared. Historical data are available for download.
Currency Trends in Low-Cost Countries (Monthly Report)
5 January 2016 - Low-cost currencies are expected further dropping in 2016 after most of them already declined in 2015. This would help exporters partly offsetting the dramatic fall of the euro and of the British pound. Emerging countries could therefore let their inflation rates increasing rather than raising interest rates. Our monthly statistical report displays a comprehensive view of currency values against the US dollar but also v. the euro, the British pound, the Indian and Pak rupees, and the Chinese renminbi over a 2-year period.

PRICE DATABASECrude oil prices have today reached a level not seen since 2004 with the polyester prices staying stable so far, nevertheless. The fall of the renminbi in the last days could have more decisive consequences for the global textile and apparel markets.
Viscose fiber prices continue retreating day after day in China, with the decline now exceeding 10% in only four weeks.
We have today added naphtha and mixed xylene prices to our polyester chain page in the price database. This will offer a comprehensive view of the petrochemical chain, from crude oil to polyester fibers.

The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has lowered its production forecast for the current season, therefore offering its support to prices. PRICE DATABASETextile raw material prices have resisted the overall decline of commodity and stock markets in the last week. Fiber and yarn prices have been far from plunging in line with crude oil prices, down 12% over the week.
The restructuring process in China should result in lower capacities, after a series of companies will have filed for bankruptcy. The spun yarn industry and now the polyester intermediate industry have begun to consolidate their facilities with a series of plants being shut down.
Yarn prices have today slid on the international market.
Cotton futures are now clearly falling in China, as authorities plan selling fibers from the state reserves.

19 January 2016 - Inflation rates have started rebounding in most low-cost countries, where authorities may prefer supporting a slowing down economic growth and let consumer prices more rapidly rising. The consecutive rise of nominal wages could however be offset by a fall of currency values, with sharp differences between emerging economies. PRICE DATABASEPolyester chain prices were today rebounding across the board in Asia, in line with the rise of crude oil prices on last Friday. Operating rates are also falling in China, ahead of holidays, offering some support to market prices.
Caprolactam prices continue however sliding in China which could result in lower nylon prices in the coming period.

6 April 2016 - Spun yarn prices have moved in different ways in the last seven days on India's domestic market, depending on products, whereas export prices have plunged in the meantime. 11 April 2016 - Cotton prices have clearly rebounded in the past weeks on the international market with New York last Friday ending above 60 cents for the first time in six weeks. There are different factors explaining such a recovery of cotton prices, as below analysed. Our weekly cotton report covers the international futures market in New York and the physical indicator "A Index". Polyester Chain Prices: PX, PTA, MEG and Fiber Prices (Weekly Report)
11 April 2016 - Polyester intermediate prices have last week declined, amid clear signs that PTA and MEG prices could however bottom out, being supported by a series of bullish factors. Our weekly report covers the polyester chain in Asia, including PX (paraxylene), PTA (purified terephthalic acid), MEG (mono-ethylene glycol), polyester chips, and polyester staple and filament prices. 14 June 2016 - Textile fiber prices have eventually risen 7-10% since the beginning of the year, being boosted by an overall rebound of commodity prices on the international markets. Beyond this upward trend experienced by nearly all fibers, sharp differences can be observed between price data, as reflected by our year-to-date tables and charts. Our report offers an exclusive comparison of fiber prices with 19 products being covered, including cotton, polyester, viscose, wool, spandex, acrylic, nylon prices, all being available over a weekly basis through our csv file.
China Yarn Prices: Domestic and Import Markets (Weekly Report)
14 June 2016 - Yarn production is no more rising in China, where spinning mills are unable raising their prices amid climbing inventories. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing (Zhejiang). Prices of a large number of counts are released for spun cotton, polyester, viscose and blends. Domestic and import yarn prices are compared. Historical data are available for download.
China Textile & Clothing Production Costs (Country Report)
14 June 2016 - China will now try limiting any new rise of its labor costs in order to be able competing with rival emerging countries in Asia. Production prices could have however bottomed out in May, according to just released official data. This statistical report offers a comprehensive view of production costs and consumer prices in China, including in textile and clothing sectors. Labor costs in major provinces are also being followed.

Spandex and PTMEG Prices in China (Monthly Report)
15 June 2016 - Spandex prices have continued slightly declining in the last weeks, reflecting the weakness in demand from fabric and apparel producers. Excess supply is further depressing prices, by contrast with a rebound or a stability of other textile fibers so far this year. Our monthly report covers spandex and PTMEG prices on the domestic Chinese market, with gross margin trends at spandex plants on a daily and monthly basis. Daily data over the last 12 months are available for download.
Pakistan Yarn Prices: Domestic and Export Markets (Weekly Report)
15 June 2016 - Cotton yarn prices have begun sharply falling on the domestic market in Pakistan whereas export prices were rising by contrast, our correspondent reports. Our weekly report offers a comprehensive view of the domestic and export yarn market in Pakistan, with cotton yarns, polyester-cotton, polyester-viscose, polyester spun and viscose spun prices being covered. All these weekly data are available for download over a 12-month period.
Polyester Fiber and Filament Yarn Prices in China (Weekly Report)
15 June 2016 - Polyester prices have stayed relatively unchanged in the past days in China, due to a low level of demand from processors and poor volatility of intermediate prices. Our weekly report covers the Polyester Staple Fiber (PSF) and Polyester Filament Yarn (PFY) prices on the domestic market, including a price comparison of polyester staple fibers with cotton and viscose. The gross margin of polyester spun yarn producers is also released.

Polyester Chain Prices: PX, PTA, MEG and Fiber Prices (Weekly Report)
20 June 2016 - PTA and MEG prices are now stabilized in Asia amid relatively firm raw material costs and a need for replenishing stocks in China, ahead of the G-20 summit of early September. Our weekly report covers the polyester chain in Asia, including PX (paraxylene), PTA (purified terephthalic acid), MEG (mono-ethylene glycol), polyester chips, and polyester staple and filament prices. Asian Contract Prices (ACPs) are also available for the PX, PTA and MEG markets in Asia, with 5-year charts and downloadable historical data.
Cotton Prices on International and Domestic Markets (Weekly Report)
20 June 2016 - Cotton prices have failed to retreat back to lower levels in the last week, over a continuous lack of supply for higher grades. Our weekly cotton report covers the international futures market in New York and the physical indicator "A Index". 16 June 2016 - Cotton yarn prices are further rising in India, being boosted by a continuous surge of cotton prices over a sudden wave of panic buying. Our review of Indian yarn prices covers the domestic markets in Ludhiana (Punjab) and Indore (Madhya Pradesh), with a wide range of products and counts, including cotton yarns (carded and combed), polyester spun, polyester-cotton, polyester-viscose and polyester-acrylic. Viscose Staple Fiber and Filament Prices in China (Weekly Report)
16 June 2016 - Viscose prices are fully frozen in China where spun yarn prices are slightly falling over a lack of demand from downward customers in the textile chain. Our weekly report covers the viscose/rayon staple fiber and filament markets over the last 12 months. Viscose spun yarn prices are also available. Cotton linter, cotton pulp and wood pulp prices on domestic and import markets are being tracked over the last 12 months, in addition.
