28 April 2020 - Demand for yarns has disappeared in China, ahead of May Day holidays, with many plants shutting down for two weeks, as a result. Yarn imports have not plunged in the first quarter, amid surging inventories of foreign yarns. Our weekly report covers China's fiber and yarn prices on cotton, polyester, and viscose markets. Domestic and Import yarn price indicators are released, as well as local market prices in Qianqing (Zhejiang), including a large number of counts for spun cotton, polyester, viscose, and blends. India Apparel Exports in 4th Quarter and Full 2019 (Quarterly Report)
28 April 2020 - India's apparel exports have fallen by 35% in March, by contrast with the recovery experienced in the full last year. Due to the strength of the rupee, sales have begun declining in the fourth quarter to the US market, whereas exports to Europe were falling further. 29 April 2020 - Polyester staple fiber prices have fallen further in China, whereas filament prices were bottoming out over higher material costs. 30 April 2020 - Flax fiber prices are now expected to plunge, after exports from France and Belgium have been stuck at European warehouses, due to the current lockdown. Chinese linen yarn producers had previously been long in restarting their production due to the COVID-19 outbreak. E.U. Clothing Imports: March 2020 (Monthly Report)

16 June 2020 - EU's clothing imports have begun to decline significantly in March, mostly due to a dramatic drop in Chinese deliveries. Bangladesh has resisted the overall decline in European imports. April data could reflect a collapse in imports. Our report covers monthly EU-27 clothing import data per origin, with historical trends being analyzed, and a specific focus on China vs. Rest of World (RoW) and Bangladesh, and on knit vs. woven clothing. Cotton use is expected to plunge this year, before rebounding in the post-Covid era, when Bangladesh will take advantage of its lower production costs and large capacities. 22 June 2020 - Crude oil, naphtha and paraxylene prices have continued to surge in the last seven days, whereas PTA, MEG, and polyester fiber prices were not able to rise at the same pace. Polyester intermediate and fiber prices will not increase further in the coming period.
