The rise of the euro has helped limiting the jump of unit prices in dollar terms. Cambodia Apparel Exports in January-September 2017 (Country Report)
16 January 2018 - Cambodia's apparel exports have continued climbing in the first three quarters of 2017. They are however expected slowing down in 2018, after minimum wages have been further raised and ahead of a potentially difficult political year. Sales to Japan have also begun stagnating in 2017 whereas rival Vietnam has continued taking shares of the US market to the detriment of neighboring Cambodia. Our statistical tables offer a comprehensive view of EU and US imports from Cambodia in the first quarter, with percentage changes being calculated in volume and value terms. US Apparel Imports in 2017: China vs. Rest of World (Statistical Report)
16 February 2018 - China's share of the US apparel import market has resisted in 2017, thanks to a new drop of unit prices whereas they have slightly risen from other origins. China has however lost market shares in many apparel categories, including in man-made fiber categories where its exports to the United States were very strong until now. This is reflected by our statistical review comparing US apparel imports from China with shipments from Rest of the World (RoW) for every category of products, in volume, value and unit value terms. Historical data cover the past five years, from 2012-2017.

19 February 2018 - PTA and MEG prices have continued slightly rising at the start of last week, ahead of lunar year holidays in China. 20 February 2018 - Yarn prices have remained fully frozen in the last days before spring holidays in China. Long-term trends should continue after the break, with cotton yarns, spun polyester and spun viscose moving into different directions. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing (Zhejiang). E.U. Clothing Imports: Latest and Long-Term Trends (Monthly Report)
20 February 2018 - EU's clothing imports have declined in December in volume terms, although unit prices have plunged in euro terms. Export prices are now sharply rising in low-income countries in dollar terms. Chinese exporters are forced significantly raising their prices which were falling a year earlier, by contrast, and they are losing market shares as a consequence. Our report covers monthly EU clothing import data, with historical trends being analyzed, and a specific focus on China vs Rest of World (RoW) and Bangladesh, and on knit vs woven clothing. Data are supplied in euro and in US dollars with historical data available for download, back to January 2000.
U.S. Imports from Central America and the Dominican Republic (Statistical Report)
19 February 2018 - US apparel imports from Central America and the Dominican Republic have suffered a clear setback in 2017, after exporters in the CAFTA-DR group of five supplying countries have been unable to further cut prices. Their duty-free access to the US market has not protected them from a decline, as reflected by our series of tables and charts displaying a comprehensive view of the US apparel imports from CAFTA-DR (Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Guatemala, and the Dominican Republic) in the past five years.

21 February 2018 - PSF prices have been stabilized in the last week by Chinese holidays. Polyester prices have more sharply increased in the past 12 months in Pakistan than in China, due to the sharp rise of the renminbi in Pak rupee terms allowing domestic producers to significantly raise their prices. Our weekly report covers the Polyester Staple Fiber (PSF) on the domestic markets in China, India, and Pakistan. Polyester filament prices in China are also released, whereas the report also include a price comparison of polyester with cotton and viscose in China, and of polyester staple fibers with intermediate prices. The gross margin of polyester spun yarn producers in China is also released.

27 February 2018 -Organic cotton is gaining traction due to a sharply rising demand for sustainability all along the textile chain, including from largest apparel chains. The share of organic cotton in global cotton production remains however minimal, mainly due to diminishing price premiums above conventional cotton. 1 March 2018 - China has again been able to lower its unit prices in full last year and to relatively preserve its share of the US apparel import market, as a result. Recycled Polyester Prices in China (New Report)
9 March 2018 -Prices for recycled PSF and POY have remained stable over the past few weeks, with prices for the PSF version having increased slightly whereas recycled POY has stayed unchanged. At the same time, virgin PSF prices have dropped to somewhat lower levels, resulting in a decreasing spread between recycled PSF and the more expensive virgin PSF. 19 April 2018 - Spun polyester prices are now climbing in China, in line with the current recovery of polyester staple fiber prices whereas 100% polyester prices have already surged 10% in the last three months in Pakistan. By contrast, spun viscose prices have begun dropping in China, after VSF prices have eventually declined. 100% viscose had previously surged in Pakistan.
