27 January 2015 - Spun yarn prices are no more moving in China, ahead of lunar year holidays due by mid February. Yarn production began declining, amid a general shift from 100% cotton to polycotton. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing (Zhejiang) and Changyi (Shandong). Prices of a large number of counts are released for spun cotton, polyester, viscose and blends. Historical data are available for download.

TPP Impact on Vietnam and Bangladesh (Statistical Report)
27 January 2015 - The ongoing TPP negotiations are expected to offer Vietnam's apparel exports a duty-free access to the US market. Depending on rules of origin which will be eventually decided, impact will be different for the global clothing market and for textile exporters in Asia, as reflected by a just released study by Standard Chartered Research. The fate of Bangladesh apparel industry is also depending on these negotiations, as Vietnam has become its strongest and direct rival on the global market. Standard Chartered has released its statistical forecast for the coming 10 years, with two scenarios, depending on the more or less flexible rules of origins.

Indonesia Apparel Exports (Country Report)
28 January 2015 - Indonesia's apparel exports began significantly slowing down in 2014, amid higher labour costs and with the national currency no more falling. The higher export prices compared with rival Asian countries have negatively affected demand from the US market, by far the leading destination of Indonesian clothing exports. The country however retains an advantage in a series of product categories, as reflected by our detailed tables. Our statistical series provide a comprehensive view of Indonesia's clothing exports, with an exhaustive review of US and EU imports per product category.
Polyester Fiber and Filament Yarn Prices in China (Weekly Report)
28 January 2015 - Polyester staple fiber prices have remained stable in the last seven days in China whereas filament prices were slightly rising. Our weekly report covers the Polyester Staple Fiber (PSF) and Polyester Filament Yarn (PFY) prices on the domestic market, including a price comparison with cotton and viscose. The gross margin of polyester spun yarn producers is also released.
India Yarn Prices: Domestic and Export Markets (Weekly Report)
28 January 2015 - Yarn prices are now sharply falling on India's export markets whereas remaining stable on the domestic market. Our comprehensive review of Indian yarn markets covers the domestic markets in Ludhiana (Punjab), Bhiwandi (Maharashtra), Bhilwari (Rajasthan) and Indore (Madhya Pradesh) markets, with a wide range of products, including cotton yarns (carded and combed), polyester spun, polyester-cotton, polyester-viscose and polyester-acrylic. Cotton Prices on International and Domestic Markets (Weekly Report)
2 February 2015 - Cotton prices have sharply rebounded in the past week on the international market, due to a very strong demand for US cotton from China, Vietnam and Indonesia. Our weekly cotton report covers the international futures market in New York and physical indicator "A Index". Domestic cotton prices in China, India and Pakistan are also reviewed through a large number of tables and charts. Price data are systematically compared while latest trends being analysed. Daily data of the past 12-month period on the international and domestic markets are available for download.
Polyester Intermediate Prices: PTA and MEG in Asia (Weekly Report)
2 February 2015 - Paraxylene and PTA prices have started again declining in Asia, after a failed attempt to raise offers. A sharp increase of capacities in China could keep prices at low levels in the future. Our weekly report covers the polyester chain, including Paraxylene (PX), PTA, MEG, polyester chips, and polyester staple and filament prices. Asian Contract Prices (ACPs) are also available for the PX, PTA and MEG markets in Asia, with 5-year charts and downloadable historical data.
