22 August 2016 - US apparel imports have stagnated in the second quarter of the year and the first half, reflecting a fall of shipments from Indonesia and especially Cambodia whereas US importers were favoring Central America, including Nicaragua and El Salvador. Our quarterly report details shipments to U.S. market per origin, with volume and value changes, market shares, and unit value variations in the last five years. 23 August 2016 - US imports of cotton apparel have continued declining in the second quarter of 2016 whereas shipments of man-made fiber products were again rising. Results have been however different depending on categories, with the shift out of cotton being much slower for certain products, like trousers, as reflected by our detailed analysis of US apparel imports per category. Our series of statistical tables offer a comprehensive view of volume, value and unit value changes, compared with previous quarters and years in 2010-15. Polyester Fiber & Yarn Price Comparison: China vs. India and Pakistan (Statistical Report)
23 August 2016 - Polyester prices have remained relatively stable in the past months, with spun yarn prices also staying rather unchanged, by contrast with the volatility of cotton fiber and yarn prices. Our monthly report compares polyester staple fiber and polyester spun yarn prices in China, India and Pakistan, in both local currency terms and US$ terms. Gross margins of spinners are also calculated on a monthly basis. Historical data back to 2007 are available for download.
China Yarn Prices: Domestic and Import Markets (Weekly Report)

US Apparel Imports in 1st Half 2016: China vs. Rest of World (Statistical Report)
26 August 2016 - China's shares of the US apparel import market have slightly declined overall in the first half this year. The drop has not only affected cotton apparel, but also man-made fiber apparel where China was still making gains in the last year. This is reflected by our statistical review covering the last five years and comparing US apparel imports from China with shipments from Rest of the World (RoW) for every category of products, in volume, value and unit value terms. Vietnam Apparel Exports in 1st Half 2016 (Quarterly Report)

29 September 2016 - Minimum wages have remained stable since the start of the year, but they are already expected to be raised in Vietnam and Cambodia, as of January 1st next year. Workers of most low-cost countries do not actually receive a minimum wage, according to a recent study by the I.L.O. whereas buyers could now check the effective level of living wages. Our report displays minimum wages in a large number of apparel manufacturing countries, with latest data updated as of October 1st in US$ terms, compared with January 2015 and January 2014. Minimum wages in local currency units are also released for most countries.

26 October 2016 - Inflation rates are still under control in most low-income countries where interest rates can now be further lowered as a result. A few countries are however unable to control the rise of consumer prices and more or less losing their competitive advantage depending on the fall of their currencies. Our monthly report offers a comparison of inflation rates in low-cost countries, with historical data available back to June 2007. 22 November 2016 - EU's clothing imports have risen in most product categories in third quarter, if considering volume terms, whereas falling in value terms. The decline of unit prices has been rather different depending on product categories. Over the last five years, unit values have risen in euro terms whereas sharply falling in dollar terms, as reflected by our report. 15 December 2016 - Polyester fiber prices are being raised in Pakistan, in line with the overall increase observed on the Asian markets. Polyester spun prices are not rising in line with material costs, however. Our weekly review offers a comprehensive picture of the domestic and export yarn markets in Pakistan, with cotton yarns, polyester-cotton, polyester-viscose, polyester spun and viscose spun prices being covered. Texturisers are being squeezed between higher material costs and a weaker demand being depressed by the demonetisation process in India. 16 December 2016 - Nylon prices have dramatically surged in the last four weeks, over a similar jump of caprolactam prices, triggered by tighter supply and sharply higher benzene prices. Demand could rapidly collapse at these levels, triggering a fall of production in Asia. 20 December 2016 - Yarn prices have risen in the last days in China, over a rebound of polyester and viscose fiber prices. Today's fall of cotton prices could however depress cotton yarn prices. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing (Zhejiang). Prices of a large number of counts are released for spun cotton, polyester, viscose and blends. Import prices are also available for yarns from India, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Vietnam. E.U. Clothing Imports: Latest and Long-Term Trends (Monthly Report)
19 December 2016 - EU clothing imports have again slowed down in October, with China however gaining market shares thanks to a shift by European buyers to lower-priced products. Imports from Bangladesh have surprisingly dropped in value terms. Our report covers monthly EU clothing import data, with historical trends being analyzed, and a specific focus on China vs Rest of World (RoW) and Bangladesh, and on knit vs woven clothing. Data are supplied in euro and in US dollars with historical data available for download, back to January 2000.

21 December 2016 - Polyester filament prices have continued rising in the last seven days in China amid however signs of a possible market correction for the polyester chain. We have analyzed the latest trends with related charts being available. Our weekly report covers the Polyester Staple Fiber (PSF) and Polyester Filament Yarn (PFY) prices on the domestic market, including a price comparison of polyester staple fibers with cotton and viscose. The gross margin of polyester spun yarn producers is also released.
India Yarn Prices: Domestic and Export Markets (Weekly Report)
21 December 2016 - Yarn prices have been slightly raised in the last days in India. The rebound of polyester staple fiber prices should not affect the spun yarn industry which remains excessively focused on production of 100% cotton yarns, as reflected by our series of tables and charts. Our review of Indian yarn prices covers the domestic markets in Ludhiana (Punjab) and Indore (Madhya Pradesh), with a wide range of products and counts, including cotton yarns (carded and combed), polyester spun, polyester-cotton, polyester-viscose and polyester-acrylic. Export market prices are also available for both cotton and polyester-cotton.
