17 August 2015 - Cotton prices have sharply rebounded in the last week in New York, after first estimates have been released by the US Department of Agriculture announcing lower production levels in the new season than earlier projected. Minimum Wages in Apparel Manufacturing Countries (Statistical Report)

Currency Trends in Low-Cost Countries (Monthly Report)
1 October 2015 - The downward trend in currencies of low-cost countries has been supported in the last month by the US Fed decision to keep unchanged its benchmark interest rate. The Turkish lira and the Indonesian rupiah have further plunged, whereas the INR could continue declining until the end of 2015. 12 October 2015 - Polyester intermediate prices have sharply rebounded after national holidays in China, in line with the recovery of crude oil prices. PTA and MEG prices are no more expected to fall over the coming period whatever the weakness in demand from textile producers. US Apparel Imports: Vietnam vs. Bangladesh (Statistical Report)
20 October 2015 - Although US apparel imports from Bangladesh have rebounded in the first half, the low-cost country could find it difficult in the coming years to compete with Vietnam which benefits from its abiliy to deliver large quantities of man-made fiber apparel. 17 December 2015 - Consumer prices have surprisingly risen in many low-cost countries in November, due to unfavorable weather resulting in higher food prices. Emerging countries have no more room for lowering their interest rates, as a result. Cotton Prices on International and Domestic Markets (Weekly Report)
21 December 2015 - Cotton prices are ignoring the dramatic fall of other commodities and continue staying firm on the global market. Over the last 20 years however, cotton prices have mostly stayed at very low levels, especially if compared with other commodities, as reflected by our series of historical charts. Our weekly cotton report covers the international futures market in New York and the physical indicator "A Index". Domestic cotton prices in China, India and Pakistan are also reviewed through a large number of tables and charts. All data are available for download.

PRICE DATABASEChina's announcement of a new stimulus plan has resulted in a slight recovery of commodity markets. Crude oil has regained ground from previously reached 11-year lows. Polyester fiber prices have more resisted.
Yarn prices have further dropped in China, with import yarn prices again rising and therefore being less competitive. As explained in our weekly report, this could eventually depress China's yarn imports and even put pressure on yarn prices in India and Pakistan.

China Yarn Prices: Domestic and Import Markets (Weekly Report)
22 December 2015 - Spun yarn prices are further sliding in China, where yarn import prices are less competitive, partly due to the fall of the renminbi. Demand for foreign yarns could further drop, therefore depressing domestic yarn markets in India and Pakistan. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing (Zhejiang). Prices of a large number of counts are released for spun cotton, polyester, viscose and blends. Domestic and import yarn prices are compared. Historical data are available for download.
Silk Prices in China (Quarterly Report)
22 December 2015 - Silk prices have stabilised in the past months in China, after significantly declining in the first three quarters. Demand is depressed from both domestic and export markets, as reflected by our series of tables. Our quarterly report provides monthly average prices over the last three years for silk and cocoon on the domestic market, with in-depth analysis of latest and long-term trends. Export data are also now released for raw silk, silk yarns and silk apparel, including average export prices over the last 12 months. Most data are available for download.
Polyester Fiber and Spun Yarn Prices in Pakistan (Monthly Report)
21 December 2015 - Polyester prices are slightly declining on the domestic and import markets in Pakistan, with demand for spun yarns progressively weakening in the meantime. Our monthly report covers the latest trends in polyester staple fiber prices and spun yarn prices (100% polyester and polyester-cotton) in both Karachi and Faisalabad markets. Polyester filament prices are also covered. Historical data back to 2007 are available for download.

PRICE DATABASECrude oil prices have further risen today on the global market with polyester intermediate prices staying relatively firm as a result. Polyester fiber prices are now expected stabilizing over the coming period.
Cotton yarn prices have begun declining in the last days on the international market, whatever the recent increase of the same cotton yarn prices on India's domestic market.

India Yarn Prices: Domestic and Export Markets (Weekly Report)
23 December 2015 - Cotton yarn prices have strongly risen in the last week in India over a recent rebound of cotton fiber prices. Our comprehensive review of Indian yarn markets covers the domestic markets in Ludhiana (Punjab) and Indore (Madhya Pradesh), with a wide range of products and counts, including cotton yarns (carded and combed), polyester spun, polyester-cotton, polyester-viscose and polyester-acrylic. Export market prices are also available for both cotton and polyester-cotton.
Polyester Fiber and Filament Yarn Prices in China (Weekly Report)
23 December 2015 - Polyester prices have again declined in the lat seven days, however giving signs of a possible stabilization in the coming period. Our weekly report covers the Polyester Staple Fiber (PSF) and Polyester Filament Yarn (PFY) prices on the domestic market, including a price comparison of polyester staple fibers with cotton and viscose. The gross margin of polyester spun yarn producers is also released.
