PRICE DATABASEThe monthly estimate for the global cotton production in 2017-18 has been raised by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), with ending stocks in next season also further rising, as a clear sign that cotton prices could sharply fall in the next autumn. 27 June 2017 - Cotton yarn prices have slightly dropped in the last days in China, with import prices still far above domestic prices. Cotton yarn imports have therefore continued dropping in May, especially from India, according to latest available data. UK Clothing Imports in 1st Quarter 2017: Categories (Quarterly Report)
27 June 2017 - The sharp fall of the pound after the Brexit vote has deeply disrupted the UK's clothing import market, with prices sharply rising in Sterling terms and shipments plunging in volume terms, as reflected by our report. Strong differences may be observed depending on HS 4-digit categories. Statistical tables are published with volume, value and unit value changes in GBP and USD terms, covering 61 and 62 HS chapters (knit and woven clothing).
