PRICE REPORTS
Nylon/Polyamide and Caprolactam Market Prices in China (Monthly Report)
31 August 2018 - Nylon 6 prices have begun bottoming out in China, over a seasonal rebound of demand and higher material costs. Our monthly report covers the latest and long-term trends of nylon 6 (polyamide 6) prices, also displaying a vertical view of the nylon chain prices, including benzene, caprolactam, staple fibers and filament yarns. The nylon/CPL spread is also calculated for assessing gross margin trends of filament producers. Daily prices of the past 12 months are available for download.

Turkey, Pakistan, Indonesia and Myanmar are three other winners, as reflected by our comprehensive review covering the second quarter and the first half 2018 per origin. A large number of statistical tables are released, with volume, value and unit value changes in both euro and US$ terms. PRICE DATABASEOur US and EU clothing import price database has been updated covering the first half of 2018
Apparel Import Price Database PRICE REPORTS
Cotton Fiber & Yarn Price Comparison: China vs. India and Pakistan (Monthly Report)
7 September 2018 - Cotton fiber prices have heavily fallen in August in Pakistan whereas spinners were raising their offers with margins therefore rebounding for a while. India and China have experienced quieter trends ahead of the arrival of their new crops this autumn. Our monthly report compares cotton fiber and yarn prices in China, India and Pakistan, offering a comprehensive view of the yarn/fiber spreads in the three countries. These gross margins of domestic spinners are displayed on a monthly basis with 10-year historical data available for download.
Wool Prices in Australia (Weekly Report)
7 September 2018 - Wool prices have dropped this week in Australia, as a new fall of the domestic currency has not supported sales. The current drought in the country is further cutting domestic wool production and potentially supporting prices at their currently high levels. Our report delivers a comprehensive view of wool prices in Australia, with a long list of micron types in A$, US$ and euro terms. Historical charts are also available, such as downloadable historical data. Links to weekly market reports in New Zealand and South Africa are provided.
Goose and Duck Down Prices in China (Quarterly Report)
7 September 2018 - Down prices have continued rising in the last months, over a lack of production and a surge of demand from domestic and export markets. The 25% additional US tariffs on Chinese shipments should not depress these market trends, primarily boosted by the growth of filled jacket production in China. Benchmark goose and duck down prices are available for standard GB-T14272-2011 with tables and charts offering a clear view of latest trends in China. 9-year historical data are available for download.

Polyester Chain Prices: PX, PTA, MEG and Fiber Prices (Weekly Report)
10 September 2018 - Polyester intermediate prices have stopped rising in the Far East, over a weaker seasonal demand than expected. The recent surge of prices has resulted in lower sales than usual in this part of the year. Prices could now stabilize or fall to lower levels, depending on the ability of spinners and weavers to pass their higher costs on to their customers. Our weekly report covers the polyester chain in Asia, including PX (paraxylene), PTA (purified terephthalic acid), MEG (mono-ethylene glycol), polyester chips, and polyester staple and filament prices. Asian Contract Prices (ACPs) are also available for the PX, PTA and MEG markets in Asia, with 5-year charts and downloadable historical data.
Cotton Prices on International and Domestic Markets (Weekly Report)
10 September 2018 - Global cotton stocks are forecasted to decline further than expected in the current season, primarily due to a reduction in China, according to the latest analysis by the ICAC. Meanwhile, international cotton prices remained firm, despite a volatile trading situation. Our weekly cotton report covers the international futures market in New York and China, and the physical indicator "A Index". Domestic cotton prices in China, India and Pakistan are also reviewed through a large number of tables and charts. All data are available for download.

China Yarn Prices: Domestic and Import Markets (Weekly Report)
11 September 2018 - Spun yarn prices have stabilized in the last week in China, in line with end of the rally in polyester fiber markets. As the surge of polyester intermediate prices finally reversed, pressure at downstream fiber plants is lifted to an extent. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing and Shaoxing (Zhejiang). Prices of a large number of counts are released for spun cotton, polyester, viscose and blends. Import prices are also available for yarns from India, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Vietnam. Domestic and import yarn prices are compared. All data are available for download.
Polyester Fiber & Yarn Price Comparison: China vs. India and Pakistan (Monthly Report)
11 September 2018 - Spinners have been able to sharply raise their prices in the past month in China, after PSF prices have soared to significantly higher levels. Margins have similarly resisted in India and Pakistan, as a clear sign that demand has remained strong whatever the jump of ram material costs in the polyester textile industry. Our monthly report compares polyester staple fiber and polyester spun yarn prices in China, India and Pakistan, in both local currency terms and US$ terms. Gross margins of spinners are also calculated on a monthly basis. Historical data back to 2007 are available for download.
EU Clothing Imports in 2nd Quarter and 1st Half 2018: Categories (Quarterly Report)
11 September 2018 - T-shirt and pullover imports to the European Union have recovered in the second quarter this year from the same period in 2017, partly due to significantly lower prices in exporting countries, in euro terms. Suit and trouser categories have also been strong whereas other HS import categories have ignored the overall rebound. Statistical tables are published with volume, value and unit value changes in euro and US$ terms, covering 61 and 62 HS chapters (knit and woven clothing). The full table is also available for download with historical data from second quarter 2013.

PRICE DATABASEPolyester filament yarn prices have stopped rising in China with even a small number of products slightly declining in Qianqing:
Polyester Filament Prices in China: Qianqing Market (weekly updated table) PRICE REPORTS
Polyester Fiber Prices in China, India and Pakistan (Weekly Report)
12 September 2018 - Polyester staple fiber prices have begun today declining in China for the first time in weeks. Polyester prices had previously stayed frozen after suddenly surging 30% in a very short period of time by historical standards. The seasonal rebound of China's textile production in this period of the year should limit any fall of polyester prices. Our weekly report covers the Polyester Staple Fiber (PSF) on the domestic markets in China, India, and Pakistan. Polyester filament prices in China are also released, whereas the report includes a price comparison of polyester with cotton and viscose in China.
Pakistan Yarn Prices: Domestic and Export Markets (Weekly Report)
12 September 2018 - Cotton yarn prices have continued falling in the last seven days in Pakistan although cotton fiber prices have rebounded, our Pakistan correspondent reports. PSF prices have been further raised on the domestic market, whatever the fall of intermediate prices in the Far East. Our weekly review offers a comprehensive picture of the domestic and export yarn markets in Pakistan, with cotton yarns, polyester-cotton, polyester-viscose, polyester spun and viscose spun prices being covered. All these weekly data are available for download over a 12-month period.
India Yarn Prices: Domestic and Export Markets (Weekly Report)
12 September 2018 - Spun yarn prices are rising across the board in India, in line with a new increase of fiber prices. The sharp fall of the rupee is possibly boosting exports, and therefore supporting domestic fiber and yarn prices on the cotton market. Our review of Indian yarn prices covers the domestic and export markets, including carded and combed cotton, poly-cotton, poly-viscose, 100% polyester and 100% viscose. Yarn prices are compared with fiber prices offering latest trends of spinners' margins. Market fundamentals are available on a monthly basis, including production and exports.
U.S. Apparel Imports: Latest and Long-Term Trends (Monthly Report)
12 September 2018 - Unit prices of US apparel imports are now rising at a higher pace, as a clear sign that production costs are no more under control in Asia. Only a strong dollar has until now limited the rise in prices, but any fall of the American currency later this year could boost export prices in dollar terms. Our monthly review covers US apparel import data, with historical trends being analyzed over the 2000-2018 period including cotton vs man-made fiber apparel, and China vs Rest of World (RoW) and vs Vietnam.

Mohair Fiber Prices (Quarterly Report)
13 September 2018 - Mohair prices have further surged in the past months in South Africa, being boosted by the dramatic fall of the rand and relatively tight supply as a result of the drought affecting the country. Demand remains also strong from fiber exporters, reflecting the rebound in mohair use at textile plants. Our quarterly report covers the different market categories in South Africa, including kids, young, adults. Historical data back to 2007 are available for download, including all sales by Cape Mohair in Port Elisabeth, South Africa.

U.S. Apparel Imports in 1st Half 2018: China vs. India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Mexico and Honduras
14 September 2018 - US apparel imports have stagnated in the first half overall with this average result hiding sharp differences depending on product categories and origins. Suppliers are obviously finding it difficult to further lower their prices with US demand slowing down in volume terms, as a consequence. If China's share is receding, results are very contrasted amid categories whereas other countries like Indonesia are retreating on most segments. Our series of statistical tables offer a comprehensive comparison of volume, value and unit value changes per origin and product category in 1st half 2018. The report also includes a detailed comparison of Chinese price trends vs other origins, through a series of indexes. Unit value changes in percentage terms and market shares per category and per origin are also released. Our full table is available for download.

Polyester Chain Prices: PX, PTA, MEG and Fiber Prices (Weekly Report)
17 September 2018 - PTA prices have this Monday plunged in China, over a lack of demand and whatever the fall of operating rates at PTA plants. Textile production has actually been reduced by the surge of raw material costs. Demand could however rebound over strong seasonal trends, once polyester fiber prices will have returned to lower levels, as a clear sign that price volatility could stay for weeks.
17 September 2018 - Cotton prices have stayed unchanged in the last week, with a firm support above 81 cents per lb in New York. Sharply stronger demand from China, but also from Vietnam, Bangladesh and Indonesia should maintain prices at relatively high levels in the current season, as production will slightly drop and stocks will again plunge in China, according to just released USDA data. Our weekly cotton report covers the international futures market in New York and China, and the physical indicator "A Index". Domestic cotton prices in China, India and Pakistan are also reviewed through a large number of tables and charts. All data are available for download.

Minimum Wages in Apparel Manufacturing Countries: Bangladesh vs other origins (Statistical Report)
21 September 2018 - Bangladesh has officially announced a 51% rise of its minimum wage at apparel plants, effective from December 1st. This sudden surge in its labor costs should however be rapidly digested by domestic exporters, thanks to higher productivity levels. In addition, minimum wages had not been raised for five years in Bangladesh, whereas being significantly increased in rival countries. Currency variations are also limiting the impact of higher wages in local currency terms. Our report displays minimum wages in low-cost apparel manufacturing countries in Asia, from January 2015 to last quarter 2018, in local currency and US$ terms. A 3-year comparison is available in local currency terms, fixed US$ terms, and current US$ terms.
Wool Prices in Australia (Weekly Report)
21 September 2018 - Wool prices have declined this week in Australia, due to a rebound of the local currency which has depressed demand from foreign buyers. The fall of wool production this season and low inventory levels in the global wool pipeline should boost prices to even higher levels, nevertheless. Our report delivers a comprehensive view of wool prices in Australia, with a long list of micron types in A$, US$ and euro terms. Historical charts are also available, such as downloadable historical data. Links to weekly market reports in New Zealand and South Africa are provided.

E.U. Clothing Imports: Latest and Long-Term Trends (Monthly Report)
24 September 2018 - European clothing imports from China have sharply dropped in July for the fourth consecutive month, whereas shipments from Bangladesh were experiencing a double-digit growth, also for the fourth consecutive month. As a result, Bangladesh has become the new leader on EU's clothing import market to the detriment of China, only ranking second in volume terms. Our report covers monthly EU clothing import data, with historical trends being analyzed, and a specific focus on China vs Rest of World (RoW) and Bangladesh, and on knit vs woven clothing. Polyester Chain Prices: PX, PTA, MEG and Fiber Prices (Weekly Report)
24 September 2018 - PTA prices have already bottomed out at the end of last week in China after previously plunging from recent peaks, as a clear sign that polyester chain prices could rapidly stabilize and stay at much higher levels than a few weeks ago. Downstream textile and clothing producers would be forced to accept the recent jump of their material costs.
24 September 2018 - Cotton futures have last week plunged in New York, over anticipations of a longer US-China trade war than earlier expected. The conflict could result in US export sales slowing down, due to prohibitive import tariffs at China's border, already effective from last July. Demand from China is however expected surging in the current season, therefore favoring other origins than US, whereas a continuously rising demand from Vietnam and Bangladesh will continue supporting cotton prices. Our weekly cotton report covers the international futures market in New York and China, and the physical indicator "A Index". Domestic cotton prices in China, India and Pakistan are also reviewed through a large number of tables and charts. All data are available for download.

US-China Trade War: Impact of Additional U.S. Textile Tariffs (Statistical Report)
25 September 2018 - The US administration has just imposed 10% additional tariffs on a large number of textile products from China. Although 26 tariff lines have been excluded from the list, additional tariffs could have a significant impact on production costs for industries using these textile fibers, yarns and fabrics, especially after January 1st, when tariffs will be possibly raised to 25%. By contrast, US sanctions will have a negligible impact on China's textile exports, EmergingTextiles.com has found. Our statistical report offers a detailed view of US textile imports from China per HS chapter from HS 50 to 60, with China's share of US imports and US share of China's exports being calculated. 1 October 2018 - Emerging currencies have sharply dropped in the first three quarters of 2018, potentially boosting exports to the Western markets. PRICE REPORTS
EU Clothing Imports in 3rd Quarter and January-September 2018: Origins (Statistical Report)
21 November 2018 - China's share of the European Union's clothing imports has sharply dropped in the third quarter of the year in volume terms, as Chinese unit prices were further soaring. Bangladesh has continued taking advantage of China's setback whereas the surge in shipments from Myanmar or Cambodia has followed the relocation of Chinese apparel industry to low-cost countries in Asia. Latest trends are reflected by our comprehensive review of 3rd quarter and January-September data per origin, from 2013-2018. A large number of statistical tables are published, with volume, value and unit value changes released in both euro and US$ terms. The full tables are also available for download.
Polyester Fiber Prices in China, India and Pakistan (Weekly Report)
21 November 2018 - Far from stabilizing, polyester fiber prices could now decline to lower levels in line with a sharp fall of intermediate prices this week in China. Demand is being lowered all over the polyester pipeline, as processors try limiting their stocks ahead of a full trade war between US and China. Our weekly report covers the Polyester Staple Fiber (PSF) on the domestic markets in China, India, and Pakistan. Polyester filament prices in China are also released, whereas the report includes a price comparison of polyester with cotton and viscose in China.
India Yarn Prices: Domestic and Export Markets (Weekly Report)
21 November 2018 - Cotton prices are now more clearly falling in India, in line with the seasonal rise of cotton arrivals from the new crop. Spun yarn prices are slightly dropping, as a consequence. The decline remains limited with cotton prices expected staying firm. Our review of Indian yarn prices covers the domestic and export markets, including carded and combed cotton, poly-cotton, poly-viscose, 100% polyester and 100% viscose. Major yarn production centres are covered with Tirupur (Tamil Nadu), Bhiwandi (Maharashtra) and Ludhiana (Punjab). Yarn prices are compared with fiber prices offering latest trends of spinners' margins. Market fundamentals are available on a monthly basis, including production and exports.
Pakistan Yarn Prices: Domestic and Export Markets (Weekly Report)
21 November 2018 - Cotton yarn prices are now falling on domestic and export markets in Pakistan, reflecting the lack of demand from downward textile and clothing producers, as the threat of a US-China trade war is now lowering the global economic growth, our correspondent reports. Our weekly review offers a comprehensive picture of the domestic and export yarn markets in Pakistan, with cotton yarns, polyester-cotton, polyester-viscose, polyester spun and viscose spun prices being covered. All these weekly data are available for download over a 12-month period.
US Apparel Imports in Jan-Sep 2018: China vs. Rest of World (Statistical Report)
20 November 2018 - China has once again lost shares of the US apparel market in the first three quarters of the year. Because of their inability of further lowering prices, Chinese exporters have suffered from competition from other nations, especially in man-made fiber apparel categories where they were supposed to have a decisive advantage. This is reflected by our statistical review comparing US apparel imports from China with shipments from Rest of the World (RoW) for every category of products, in volume, value and unit value terms. Historical data cover the first half of the past five years, from 2013-2018.
China Yarn Prices: Domestic and Import Markets (Weekly Report)
20 November 2018 - China's yarn market remains very depressed with operating rates being progressively lowered at spinning and weaving mills in order to limit the fall of prices and margins. Spun polyester and viscose prices have sharply dropped, in line with the decline of fiber prices.
China Textile & Clothing Production Costs (Country Report)
19 November 2018 - Production prices are rising at a lower pace in China, reflecting the fall of the economic growth in the country. Business activity is now threatened by major issues, including the trade war with the US, or the fight against pollution and shadow banking. Textile and apparel data are however much more contrasted with clothing exports currently rebounding. Our statistical report offers a comprehensive view of production costs and consumer prices in China, including in textile and clothing sectors. Labor costs in major provinces are also being followed.

Our report delivers a comprehensive view of wool prices in Australia, with a long list of micron types in A$, US$ and euro terms. Historical charts are also available, such as downloadable historical data. Links to weekly market reports in New Zealand and South Africa are provided.

Cotton Prices on International and Domestic Markets (Weekly Report)
3 December 2018 - Cotton futures were this Monday rebounding in electronic trading in Asia after Washington and Beijing have announced a 3-month trade truce, with China potentially buying larger quantities of US agricultural products. The 25% additional tariff on China's imports of US cotton should limit any rebound in demand and prices, if not removed. Our monthly report offers a comparison of inflation rates in low-cost countries, with historical data available back to June 2007. Impact of currency changes vs the US dollar, the euro and the Sterling is also calculated to assess real terms of trade for exporters.

Our report delivers a comprehensive view of wool prices in Australia, with a long list of micron types in A$, US$ and euro terms. Historical charts are also available, such as downloadable historical data. Links to weekly market reports in New Zealand and South Africa are provided.
