TerriaJSON CatalogFunction on next TerriaJS 8.0

Hello TerriaJs community.

Can someone tell me if it is planned to implement the TerriaJson type CatalogFunction in version 8.0.

I have reviewed several branches related to Terria Next and I cannot find related developments. I only find a development related to WPS CatalogFunction.

Perhaps there are now other alternatives to using remote catalogs.
