Hi,

I hope your semester is going well so far!  I'd like to invite all of you to the weekly Virtual Objectivist Club, for students who do not have access to regular club meetings at their home campus. (See info below)

If you are interested in having on-campus, in-person meetings this semester, please reply to this email emi.b...@gmail.com to let me know!  There are a lot of people on this email list, and it would be great if we could all get together.

I'll be setting up at least one lecture from an ARI speaker this semester, and hopefully we can make it out to a few of the other objectivist events in the area.  Objectivist events are going on in and around the DC area for most of the year, and I'll try to keep you informed about anything that comes to my attention.  Lectures are sometimes held at universities or the National Press Club, and I'll periodically hear about an objectivist meeting for discussion of some specific topic.

Thanks! I look forward to hearing from you,

Emily Barnes
President, Terrapin Objectivists

The Virtual Objectivist Club (VOC) is a weekly phone-based/online discussion group dedicated to the study of Ayn Rand's philosophy of Objectivism.  The VOC is being offered for the first time this 2009 academic year. It's open to any current students who would like to learn more about Objectivism.

During the Fall 2009 semester, we are meeting online to discuss essays and topics from either the Ayn Rand Reader or from free, online resources.  Each meeting is hosted by a rotating set of moderators, including Greg Perkins, Diana Hsieh, Kyle Haight, Andrew Dalton, and Kurt Colville.  We meet on Wednesday evenings at 9 p.m. Eastern.

If you're a student who does not have access to a study group at your school, we may just be the group for you.  If you're interested, you can get more information and our full schedule at http://www.oclubs.org/voc.
