Terraform binary issue

Hi ,

I downloaded terraform binary- terraform_0.10.7_linux_amd64.zip for upgrade   on my mac  and when i execute   it , I  get following error.

./terraform

-bash: ./terraform: cannot execute binary file

I have  changed  t chmod +x terraform 

Currently  the  version is 

terraform -version

Terraform v0.7.13

Your version of Terraform is out of date! The latest version

is 0.10.8. You can update by downloading from www.terraform.io. Can you pls help me out  what causes the  issue?

You seem to have downloaded the Linux version not the mac one.

Also you will be jumping a considerable amount of versions forward and most of your existing code will not work.

This is an important point. I'd step incrementally from 0.7.x to 0.8.x to 0.9.x to 0.10.x, adjusting your code and processes/workflow along the way to ensure it still works.

So that it's easier to maintain multiple projects requiring diff versions of Terraform, I recommend using tfenv. It's very easy to set up and use, and helps you avoid human error.
