Simple Charcoal Furnace

I've posted a sketch (very crude) of a possible design for a 55 gallon
drum furnace for making biochar. The idea is to make the char
separately from the firebox in order that I can capture the biogas.
This is also a concept that will prove out the ability to modify an
existing wood gasification furnace used for home heating in order to
create biochar when not providing heat.
Please react and provide any information that you may have about your
efforts to make backyard biochar.
