Dear Junior Team Tennis League Commissioners and Supporters!

USTA NorCal will be hosting a Future Tennis Champions (FTC) event at Silverado Resort & Spa on Sunday, Oct. 30th from 1-5pm. We are seeking teams to sign up to participate in the event – 8 kids per team. Teams consist of (4) red, (2) orange, and (2) green level players. All players must be 10 years of age or younger. Even if you cannot form a complete team, please encourage your players to sign up as we can combine and/or place single players on teams needing extra players.

In the USTA player development pathway, this opportunity is a fantastic way to encourage your players to take the small step of testing their skills in a fun, non-threatening, competitive environment. All children will play timed matches on the appropriate sized courts (based on their level) with small racquets and low compression balls.

Team competition is especially powerful because it allows the children to be apart of the camaraderie of a team (no matter how well they perform individually), make new friends and experience a low-key competition. The event is organized in a format that will allow children to play again and again, whether they win or lose and emphasis will be placed on participation, effort and sportsmanship.

Players should have some match play experience and be able to serve, rally and score. Modified serving will be allowed and court monitors will be on site to help with scoring.

Flyer is attached with more details.

Please let me know if you think you can form a team (or part of a team). And coaches – please come out and see this event as we would like to be able to replicate this in your community!

Thank you for your support of USTA Junior Team Tennis!
