To activate these cheats in RollerCoaster Tycoon 3, rename a peep to the name in bold before each description. Cheats are listed by version; newer versions (listed first) include all of the cheat codes below them.
This allows removal of the user interface (ie all the icons, menus etc) using CTRL+U once the cheat is active. This is great for taking screen shots. Press CTRL+U again to get the user interface back.
Disable the Lift Chain Speed & Launch Speed limits. Normally, you are not permitted over a set speed limit. Usage: Select a coaster. Select "Operating Mode". You must have "Powered Launch" selected to alter the Launch Speed.
Unknown effect. (On the first Career mission, this code will double the value rating of your park - which will complete your first mission objective) (On other tested missions, it seems to possibly cause a slight increase in park value too)
So, you want to build a rollercoaster do ya? Well, RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 is the game for you! It's all about building the craziest coasters in your very own theme park. Does anyone have this game (I think it is now called Carnival Cruise Ship Tycoon) , and what do you think of it? I was thinking about picking it up, but online reviews aren't the greatest. The main complaint is that it isn't as sophisticated as other Sim games... since I don't really play Sim games, that probably wouldn't bother me, unless it is really simple. Anyone have any comments?
We have it. I hate it. Have never been able to get it to work right. ( I guess that would be the best way to describe it. ) It is nothing like the other games similar to it.... rollercoaster tycoon, zoo tycoon etc. (we have those too). What I thought it would be like.... is something like rollercoaster tycoon.... where you build your own ship, put in the things you want (ice cream bars, pizza, casual dining, pools etc) and design staterooms that you think will sell.... and then build income based on how well your ship does. Well, I have built some really awesome parks with rollercoaster tycoon (so have my boys) and none of us have been able to build a single ship with this game... they sail and sink before you can put the first room in. Maybe we just don't have great enough directions for the game.... I dont' know... all I know is that we have had it for a year, and have been trying to play.... and have been horribly unsuccessful. Sorry to be such a downer about it. Maybe someone on here has it and has figured it out... and can guide you!!! Which will also help me!!! ;) Good luck.
I have several of these types of games (zoo, coaster, etc) and the cruise ship is the worst. It's difficult to use, locks up ALOT and if/when you finally do get a ship together something happens on board.
I got it for Christmas last year so it may be an older version. When I first got it I was enthralled with it. Couldn't stop playing in. Loved it. Found it challenging and couldn't wait to earn enough money to build the biggest mega ship that would have all the kinds of cabins I wanted and all the entertainment options I like. After about a month of overload however, I became disenchanted with it because obviously the computer programmer had never been on a cruise! It kept wanting me to add more bars (OK, that's probably true!), but I found that although you could add kid zone areas, spas, pools and other more upscale items, the customer satisfaction levels never went up accordingly. The only way to really "win" is if you sold off the pool, spa, and entertainment areas and filled them with bars and restaurants.
My husband has played and built a ship that keeps going really well...stay away from the rocks. BUT he also found that the people on board just wanted more bars, so more help to clean up where the drunks get sick. He also became bored with it because of this......no real challenge or chance of "building" anything exciting or fun. Recommendation....don't get it.
Jacquelyn...I have the game and enjoyed playing it but have not played in a while...because I have a lot of games and just to busy, LOL. Like others have said, the cruisers really like the bars, get sick from drinking to much, need more places to spend their money, need more entertainment, bathrooms and are always complaining. If you leave the port a little late...customer satisfaction goes down...and watch the gas...creatures and the storms. Some things that happen...some guests jump overboard, fall in the pool, pass out and if they get sick and you do not get someone to clean it up...people slip and fall. If they cannot find a bar, LOL...or there is to many on one deck...I pick them up and move them. Gotta have enough crew and workers...and use your money wisely and passengers will spend, so you can buy more rooms, get more guests and build bigger ships. I got this game at Office Depot for $5.00 and have gotten that much fun out of it but do not play everyday. What you build, you can save. I do not use the cheat sheet.
I only found the game "fun" with the cheat codes enabled. And for the seasoned cruiser, the game is very different than the real thing. You pretty much have to have restaurants, bars, etc. on every single deck.
lol, I just bought the game not to long ago, carnival 2005 island hoping....And yes, there is a lot wrong with the game, it either locks up, or my mouse cursor disappears. I've never had anyone get sick or anything like that, matter of fact I bought the 3rd ship in 1 day, and alomst have the 4th one. It is kinda lame, just good for wasting time....ie rebooting computer from all the lockups and stuf like that. Now I know some people say well your computer may have issues....I play Starwars galaxies Jump to lightspeed everyday, that takes a pretty beefy computer. Kinda sad when an activision game wont play for crap...and yes I know, I'm to old for so many games lol!
Bought this game cheap at W*M. Thought it would be a neat diversion to kill time until the real cruise. Can't ever get it to play! It starts out ok, but it takes forever and a day to make a move with the cursor and it keeps locking up. Was beginning to think that maybe the computer didn't have enough memory (even though other games like RC tyc play fine), so we were considering an upgrade in ram.
Now after reading all you guys' comments on the game, I'm not so sure it's a memory problem. Maybe it is just a substandard game with pretty packaging. Maybe we should save the ram money and spend it on the real ship!
This is probably one of the worst games I've played - graphics-wise. There are also not enough options. I am addicted to Roller Coaster Tycoon... but it didn't take me long to get bored with CC Tycoon. Only sank 1 ship - that was before I figured out how the program worked. I'd say, don't waste your money.
Yeah it's hard to keep passenger satisfaction up. I can't spend too much time on the computer since I had carpal tunnel surgery in 2001, so I always go bankrupt! Too much trouble to play, so I'd watch my son, who always got a kick out of throwing the troublemakers overboard! :D We'll have to try the cheat code!
I was really excited about this game....until I got it. It starts playing really slow and gets slower and slower as I add things to a ship until it totally freezes the computer. This is not some old slow computer I use either. I finally gave up and deleted it and put the disc away to gather dust months ago. It's wierd how it works for some of us but not for others even when our computers have all the requirements for the game. I wish I was able to say I got it cheap, but I actuially bought it online before it was available in the stores when it was more expensive. Lesson learned.
I was also disappointed in this game for all the reasoned previously mentioned. Kind of makes you wonder, though, if the staff and crew have as much trouble taking care of the "real" pax as gamers do taking care of these "virtual" pax. My guess, based on various posts around CC, is that their frustration level probably reaches the boiling point, as well. They can't just press the ESC key to get off the ship.
I bought the Carnival 2005 Island Hopping and it was a let down. So, I searched the internet and found a fun replacement. Its called "Virtual Sailor". It is not a tycoon game but instead, it is a sailing simulator game. You can download the $25 game right on to your PC. Also, there are free downloads of cruise ships, tankers, freighters, etc... The game allows you to set the weather conditions, sea turbulence, wave height, wind speed and direction. Check it out.
I got the original "Cruise Ship Tycoon" off of eBay months ago, and gave up on it very quickly. The biggest problem was that, unlike "RCT", they don't provide you with any already-created scenarios for you to modify and play -- it's great being able to start with at least a partially built amusement park and then learn the game while you're building and improving it. It took forever to figure out how to build a ship on "CST", and I ran out of money long before it was finished -- never even got to the point of sailing a ship. Now that I have the cheat codes, maybe I'll load it on the laptop again, and give it another try.
Planet Coaster is a thrilling construction and management simulation game where you can design and manage your theme park. The fun continues as you can also share your theme park via the Global Village, where you operate the rides and set up an amazing environment to become a tycoon of your park.
