Thank you to Aldo with Tagima Guitars for your generous donation of this gorgeous tw29-EQ to John Gaidosh with Guitars 4 Vets! And thank you to Guitars 4 Vets and Waukesha County Veterans Services for the important work you do for our veterans! It takes a village!

This is a wonderful music store with the best staff. The owners are friendly, caring, and knowledgeable and the instructors are highly skilled. Want to learn an instrument? Look no further. This little music shop gives much needed culture to Mukwonago.

Join us for an unforgettable celebration as a talented ensemble of musicians, actors, and writers gather to honor the people, organizations, and events that shape Harlem's rich and vibrant history. This special evening pays tribute to distinguished figures such as Malcolm X, Althea Gibson, Marcus Garvey, Dorothy Maynor, Coleman Hawkins, Pauli Murray, Larry Neal, Queen Mother Moore, and many more.

Don't miss this chance to experience the spirit of Harlem through the stories of its most influential contributors. Long-time Harlem resident and CUNY Professor Emeritus William Seraile highlights the significance of this project, stating, "Harlem lacks an identity. Not an identity of culture but rather an identity of its history: Who did what where? Who lived there? It begs the question: Where are the historic markers? Now, through the Signs of the times, Harlem has visual reminders of its unique history.

From his chart-topping hits to his infectious energy, Machel Montano knows how to throw a party like no other. Join The Apollo for the hottest celebration of music, culture, and community with those you love this Labor Day weekend.

Nashville's Bluebird Cafe is a small but mighty listening room where up and coming songwriters and artists build their careers. Over the past 40+ years, the room has developed into one of the most significant music venues in the world where all songwriters are welcomed and supported, from novice to established hit-makers. Artists such as Kathy Mattea, Garth Brooks, Faith Hill and Taylor Swift have had career moments in the room along with countless hit songwriters whose music is represented on a wide range of charts. Over 80,000 people visit the venue annually; many of them as a result of seeing the Bluebird on television, in news pieces, The Foo Fighters' documentary, Sonic Highways, the feature film, The Thing Called Love, or on the ABC hit drama, Nashville. Most recently, the venue's story was featured in the 2019 documentary, BLUEBIRD.

In these late empire days of 2024, Kim Gordon is in a sweet spot as far as her musical career: forever being a total, stone cold legend from her work in Sonic Youth, while also proving decisively over the last few years that she refuses to rest on her laurels and became a nostalgia act. In fact, she put out an album that I suspect is going to firmly nestle itself into many top 10 lists this year, the electric, gut-punching The Collective.

The Texas Music Cafe has been bringing live music to Waco for over 27 years. While the company has been closed for the past nine months, it has officially reopened at 110 S Sixth St. in downtown Waco.

Before the venue change, the Texas Music Cafe was located on Washington Avenue. Chris Ermoian, executive producer of the Texas Music Cafe, said they began looking to move once rent started to rise downtown due to growth in Waco.

In prior years, the Texas Music Cafe was broadcast on public television to 150 countries and 94 million homes. It has since shifted its platform to YouTube, where it now averages around 150,000 views a month.

The team has already hosted film screenings and a few artist shows in its new location. However, it plans to close for the next three weeks to build a new stage and will reopen on April 5 with a show featuring artist Matt Mason.

The welcoming and large outdoor patio space at Caf Galleria is an ideal setting for live music and great food. Conveniently located on Midway Main Street, this restaurant offers live music most days of the week. See the music schedule here. (Subject to change and weather dependent.)

I was introduced to Bryn Battani by Samuel Wilbur, which is symptomatic of how quickly and deeply this Texan jumped into the Twin Cities music community. Her Western twanged chamber pop is bringing a refreshing sound to the great North. You can catch her at Underground Music Caf on April 12 for the release of her upcoming Guest Room.

I also fell in love with orchestral Austin band/collective Mother Falcon, who runs a week-long songwriting summer camp for students of any instrument. That gave me the opportunity to really think about narrative and arranging, both of which I continued to explore throughout college while studying English and Music at Carleton College in Northfield (which led to my landing in Minnesota). I ended up co-producing my first EP with Mother Falcon cellist Diana Burgess and incredible Austin writer Curtis McMurtry. I think having great guidance during that first-ever recording experience has given me confidence to go forth and take a more DIY approach to my last EP Hang Your Clothes and my upcoming release Guest Room.

My main idea was for the song to gradually build in confidence and self-assurance, then break free by erupting into triumphant squealing trumpet and flute chaos. I knew I wanted to bring Gabriela Torres (of Austin indie folk outfit Large Brush Collection) and Liam Lord (my high school crush) into a room together and let the improvisation ensue. I told them to just chatter wildly with each other, and we kept that first take. That was a very satisfying producer moment.

Until Underground Music Cafe opens in late April. Located just around the block from Target Field, the new bar/venue will specialize in local coffee, beer, and wine, plus live music and wood-fired pizza, the Minneapolis-St. Paul Biz Journal reports.

The Cafe Carpe, is a family-friendly cafe and bar (with no TVs), housed in a century-old brick building on the Rock River, with a separate listening room and a screened porch overlooking the water. Run by fairly sentient centenarians Bill Camplin and Kitty Welch, the Carpe has been idiosyncratic since 1985. Peruse this site to learn its fascinating history, and to discover what it has to offer, and when, but do not ask why.

There's not a lot of time now, but this month's contest is "Through produced music" with a time limit of 5 minutes, and the entry has to be in by the end of 27th (USA time)
I've got an entry in of about 3:30, but we really need more. Help us out folks, and promote Linux audio at the same time

The Red Room at Cafe 939 is a state-of-the-art, all-ages, student-run music venue. Located at 939 Boylston Street, the venue showcases Berklee's emerging student talent, local artists, as well as national acts seeking a more intimate, personal space in which to perform and connect with their fans. While most rooms in Boston have a specific musical niche, Cafe 939 will embrace nearly any style, from rock, jazz, folk, and world, to bluegrass, hip-hop, electronica, avant-garde, and beyond.

The 200-capacity concert venue, which features high-end PA and lighting systems, video and DVD capabilities, and flexible seating, is equipped for a wide variety of performances. Music business/management majors are responsible for the booking, marketing, publicity, and promotion of shows at the almost completely student-run operation. Berklee students also work as ushers, box office clerks, and in the stage crew.

The cafe is currently a sushi and noodle bar that features wireless internet access, a sleek, modern design concept, a relaxed atmosphere with a number of large, comfortable sofas and chairs, and a Berklee history room with walls covered in old photographs and materials chronicling the college's past.
