Withthe completion of Ghost Town, you'll have the chance to speak with Nix in the small room behind the bar at the Afterlife. During your conversation with Nix, agree to help him recover the spellbook. To recover the book, you'll need to contact R3n0 - call her.
As you enter the building, you'll find R3n0 standing by the bar. Following your chosen decision, follow the waypoint marker across the road to a small plaza as you look for the stash location.Located next to a vending machine, you'll find a suitcase that contains the book. Once you have opened the suitcase and taken the book, you'll have the option to decrypt it. To do so, head to the Shards menu and press square or X to begin the decryption. Once you're ready, head back to the Afterlife and speak with Nix. At first he will offer you a relatively low price for the book, but when informing him that you're not selling it at that price as the book is worth way more, he will double his initial offer.Happy with the price increase, V will sell Nix the book and the mission will end following their short conversation.
In Cyberpunk 2077, you will come across a side mission for Nix called "Spellbound," which sounds like a simple task at first but will require you to make use of your perks and hack a secret code. The Spellbound code isn't quite straightforward to acquire and will need you to have your intelligence attribute at a certain level, or you may have to complete the mission using a more violent method.
The Spellbound side job can be acquired when you start Act 2. However, the job only becomes available once you complete the Ghost Town mission in Cyberpunk 2077. Since this mission is given by Nix, you will first need to locate him. Nix can be found in Afterlife, and he will require you to buy a "book of spells" from R3n0. Once you accept the job, you will get a text from Nix, to which you will need to reply to get R3n0's contact details. Call R3n0 to set up the meeting and head to the location she shares with you.

R3n0 will be in a bar in Charter Hill, where you can approach her and talk to her about the "book of spells" that contains code. Depending on your Perks and your Life path, you will get a few options. If you have Intelligence above 9 or chose the Corpo lifepath, you can haggle down the code's price by 50%. You will still need enough eddies in Cyberpunk 2077 to make the purchase with R3n0. However, if you have invested 9 or more Skill Points in Intelligence, you will be able to incapacitate R3n0 and hack her laptop to get the code for free.
No matter what your Intelligence score is, you should be able to decrypt the book. Once you have the spellbook, you can open the menu and head into the Journal section. Scroll down to the Shards section of the Journal, and the Spell Book will be the very last option available. Open the spellbook and hit the F key, Square (Xbox), or X (PlayStation) to crack the document. This will bring up the quickhack option to crack the book.
The first BD is the top line, second choice over. The E9 to choose next is the third option down. After is the BD two to the right, not the one at the end. 55 is one up from here. 1C is all the way to the left. FF is at the very bottom. Lastly is the BD, which is three to the right. This choice and order will grant you a copy of the daemon on the shard as well as downloading a crafting spec for a new advanced quickhack.
After following through with any of the previous pathways, bring the spell book back to Nix and ask him to pay up. If you have an Intelligence of 12 or higher, you can ask Nix to up the price, which will score you roughly 16,000 eddies in total for the mission. However, asking for more money will ruin you relationship with Nix and possibly keep him from offering V goods or missions in Cyberpunk 2077.
Cyberpunk 2077 has been out for a while, and there are still plenty of gigs to take on in Night City. In fact, there is one gig in particular that can net you a huge payout if you have the right stats and choose the right options. That's what this guide is about, so let's get into it, netrunner.
The first thing you have to do is talk to the fixer Nix. Since Nix doesn't call you out of the blue to start this mission, you have to look for him yourself. Thankfully, Nix can be found in one of his rooms at the Afterlife bar. Talk to him and he'll ask for your help to purchase a spellbook, a piece of tech holding old and highly classified information from before the Great Network Crash. It seems shady, which is why Nix will send you out as a middleman, giving you the seller's contact information and promising to pay you back along with some interest.
The next step in the quest is simple. Call the contact, named R3N0, and you'll set up a meeting for the exchange. She'll demand that you pay upfront before any info is given. Agree and you'll be given a waypoint on the map to a public cafe.
Shoot R3N0 and Hack the Case: You can be a total asshole and just hack the suitcase, which will give you the location of the spellbook. You'll need 9 Tech in order to do this. Doing so will cause R3N0 to pull a weapon, the entire cafe to panic, and the police to show up. Survive the shootout and you can go collect your prize for Nix.
Get R3N0 To Drop Her Asking Price: You'll only get this option if you took the Corpo lifepath. Choosing this option will allow you to poke holes in R3N0's professional facade, and dress down just how much she didn't think this meet up completely through. By doing this, you drop her asking price down to 1,800 eddies. Pay and you'll get the drop-off point for the spellbook.
Once you have the spellbook, you can just deliver it to Nix as promised... or you can crack the encryption on the thing and get some secrets. If you do so, be sure to save your game first since you'll only have one shot at cracking it. Pull it off and you'll get access to a blueprint for a Legendary quick hack called System Reset. The key to this is cracking the case will grant you the recipe but not the means to build it. The best way of doing so is by completely the Kold Mirage side gig. You should receive this as a mission reward. If you have a hacker build, this is a must-have.
Convince Nix to Triple His Payout: You'll need 12 Intelligence to get this choice. Choosing this option will allow you to use Nix's own words against him and renegotiate a better payout. You know full well how precious the spellbook is to netrunners, and you know it's worth a lot more than what Nix is paying. He'll warn you never to pull such a move on him again, but he'll pay you 16,000 eddies in the end.
There are multiple ways to get the spellbook, all depending on what path you want to take. You can pay at the full price, half the price by using the Corpo exclusive dialogue option, or you can incapacitate R3n0 and find the cache coordinates by breaching the computer.
Now, you have to go all the way back to the club and speak to Nix again. Once talking with him you can choose to keep the book, give it to them at the original price or get them to triple it, which they will do. This can be done by choosing the following dialogue options:
It is known to some scholars that the skins of snakes can be read like books. Those who speak the serpent language know that these creatures continuously hiss their titles. As they grow, the animals revise and expand themselves, shedding old knowledge for new. The most common and convenient
This is a cool and unique idea and really served as inspiration. I wanted to make spellbooks more than just tomes of spells that the wizard flips through. I found the picture below and thought that this would be a cool idea for a spellbook. What if an image with a personality and quirks manifested on the page to bother the wizard, guide or heckle them, etc.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a game of the past and its forgotten futures. Its setting is a pastiche that was overtaken by history and technology. It is a piece of software that is a throwback to PC gaming of the 1990s and early 2000s in every possible way, and its aesthetic and narrative sensibilities of a teenage boy's bedroom in the 1980s. Yet its lavish and utterly sincere devotion to its influences recalls what has made these dated visions so alluring and enduring. Cyberpunk is too tacky and graceless to be cool, but it's very big, and very loud, and sometimes that's all it takes to be awesome.
