the same appletv device was used for about a year, then sat in a box for a while and is now connected at a new location (new house, new ISP). i enter user/password that work on other devices including a TiVo and a Samsung blu-ray player. the same creditials worked fine on this same appleTV box previously. i've entered it multiple times. i've entered it using the original remote. i've entered it using text entry via the iphone remote app. neither works.
Same is happening to me since I downloaded the software update last night - and I've been using Apple TV consistently since I bought it a year ago. My iPhone 4S remote app also won't work with my Apple TV now either.
I can't even use the Apple Remote App, so I've been signing in with the AppleTV Remote. I get error 117 saying my username or password is incorrect even after I just signed in to Netflix.com via my computer. The date and time are correct on my TV and AppleTV.
this was definitely a bug - a rather bad one - and i hope it gets fixed (if it has not already been fixed, that is - i can't confirm one way or the other, since i've worked around the problem and can't easily reproduce it).
I'm having the same problem. Can't access Netflix through Apple TV says password is incorrect error 117. I typed a bunch even changed the password by going directly to Netflix on my computer and then back to ATV. Still can't get in. Did a reset and restore nothings changed.
I have recently purchased the apple tv and sign upto Netflix today. Works fine on my computer, my phone and my iPad. But no the atv just keeps coming up unable to login, I've tried resting, unplugging, changed password, tried both remote and remote app logins but nothing.
I tried that too still comes up unable to sign in. The account name or password you entered does not match an account in our records. Remeber your password is case sensitive. Need help signing in? Visit www.netflix.com/login help. And all that does is resets my password on the account which does exist.
What finally worked for me, via someone's suggestion on this board, was putting a space after the password, and then submitting. For some weird reason, it worked. And I know it worked for others on this board. Try that and let us know.
Unfortunately the space didn't work. Also just tried unplugging router and apple tv then reconnecting but nothing, tho my iPad is now having issues connecting to Netflix but still works on computer fine. Any other ideas? Starting to regret ate purchase
I have had a similar issue issue for 4 days except that I see everything but my queue, recently watched and new arrival categories. Very frustrating as this suddenly happened with no changes to any of the setup in my home and affects 2 ATV's the exact same way. I spent 20 minutes with Netflix support on phone and got nowhere.
My issue was limited to yesterday afternoon. It worked fine before that, and now seems to be back to normal. I think it must've been a Netflix problem, and whatever it was, they seem to have cleared it up.
I've already tried the hard reboot and rebooting router and modem too. Also tried logging in and out of netflix. And resetting ATV. No luck on any. I feel it has to be something on the Netflix end since it effects both of my ATV units and nothing has been changed or updated on any of my network or devices to trigger this. I also had the general no connection at all issue last night several other users have reported. I've been at work all day so I'll have to wait to check again till I get home.
I am having the exact same issue. It just started a few days ago. I have tried everything I can think of to fix the problem including all of the things mentioned here. Has anyone figured out a solution?
Same thing out here in Hawaii. Netflix is not the same experience when I can't browse from the sofa with a remote in my hand. Besides, the Netflix queue on Apple TV is kind of a hassle for navigation (which is my only option at this point). After reviewing a title in the list, the "cursor" automatically jumps to the top of the queue when I use the "back" button! Not a problem if you only have a short list, but I have nearly 100 titles there, so I spend a bit of time scrolling to where I left off.
I have had a similar issue. It started a couple of days ago. On the ATV, I try clicking on Netflix, but nothing happens. I have tried rebooting, doing a factory reset, resetting my router, etc... I called Apple and they said that I needed to pay $30 in order to speak to a representative. I have an internet connection because I can go to youtube or access the iTunes store. Does anyone know how to fix this?
I can get thru the netflix menus, but then am told I am not connected to netflix, error 104. I can see things fine on my desktop (ahrd-ethernet connection) and I can see youtube on my apple TV. Same problem with MLB.
Good afternoon folks I can't watch Netflix on my Firefox browser. Do you know why is there a plug-in what is missing or something? He says the version is not up to date While my Firefox is always up to date, can you help me further. Thanks in advance from Trimmy.
Neither Netflix nor Disney+ work after this latest Firefox upgrade. (And I have read on other chats that Hulu and others are also not working, getting error codes when the previous version of Firefox worked fine.) There is clearly an issue with this upgrade to accommodate the new Mac M1 chip. However, if you do not have this latest Mac processor, something has gone wrong in connecting with streaming services for those of us on the previous generation Macs.
I have the same problem. I have found references to loading Rosetta. this is not the language learning program but some sort of patch for programs that were written for the intel version of the mac which is now running the new Apple chip. However, without a specific window coming up asking you to load rosetta and a button to push to do so there is no easy way to do this. I have found a reference to running scripts in a command window but this is not for the standard user. I have seen this issue with the Firefox browser but it is not apparently an issue with the Safari browser. No surprise that Safari is an Apple product.
Hey Everyone it is sweet of you that you try to help me. But I have a Windows 10 Laptop From Acer, so the Apple computer help isn't much use. Because don't have an Apple computer. I want to help me and also thank you very much for your tips.
