How much grammar is enough? This section contains enough exercises to spend hours practising. However, remember that, even though grammar is important, there are more things to take into account when learning Russian as a foreign language. Our website has plenty of sections, all of them different and useful. Have a look around and choose a couple of them to visit every time you need a rest from doing exercises. Studying a language is more than just grammar activities.

I have a simple Anki card type for grammar points - on the front of the card I write myself a mini-quiz on the elements of the point (sometimes with an example sentence or two, and on the back I summarize in my own words, and give the example sentence translation.
Now. I plan to create my own, using sentences from Shinkanzen Master. If this should succeed, I would be able to do exercises in Shinkanzen Master better. After all, I want to be able to do exercises well.

This exercise is for intermediate-level students. Each of the below 20 sentences has a mistake. Rewrite the sentence without the mistake, and then click on 'Answer' to check your answer. Explanations have been added to the answers that are not obvious.
* Use a progressive tense (present progressive is used here) for actions and (some) adjectives that are temporary. Your sister is not annoying; she is only being annoying today. For adjectives, this generally applies to adjectives that require an action (e.g. being silly, being rude) and not states (dead, tired).
* This is the second conditional. It is for a present unreal condition. There is a very low chance the world will end tomorrow. The speaker does not believe it will happen. Therefore, to show that it's not a real possibility, we use the second conditional.
How can you improve your English? The best way is to practice speaking and writing with a teacher who can give you feedback on your mistakes. If you don't have a teacher, there is also free software such as Grammarly that can give you grammar feedback while you type.

Free online exercises to practice the application of grammar rules for both beginners and advanced learners. They are in two different formats: multiple choice and fill in the blanks.
In the multiple choice format, you will be provided up to four answer choices; you are required to choose the correct answer. The fill-in-the-blanks exercises do not provide any answer choices. You are required to type the correct answer in the space (gap) provided next to the question.
The grammar exercises display a paragraph of content, with the instructions above the content. For some exercises you need to click the appropriate words or phrases in the content. For other exercises you need to also enter the corrections (for example, the correct punctuation or spelling).

We have written English translations with Japanese grammatical structures in order to focus on the target sentence patterns. Therefore, some of them may not be natural in terms of English grammar. In addition, words in parentheses are omitted in Japanese.
